Got to be thee best ice cream ever! So many choices(including the old traditional). I had a choc waffle cone with Turkish delight and coconut and my mum had lemon meringue pie with blood orange sorbet. So good.

This is the most exciting ice cream shop this side of Scotland! If there is such a thing as a high adrenaline ice cream café, this is it. For around the £2 mark you can purchase a double scoop cone with a choice ranging from old favourites vanilla and chocolate to pistacchio, bubblegum, lemon meringue and even Amaretto ice cream! Without exaggeration there are more than 20 flavours and all look extremely delicious! What’s more, they are made in-house with tried, tested, good old fashioned recipes. This has forever been the family pit stop when we’ve visited Ayr, come rain or shine. If you’re unfortunately caught in a downpour, there are a few seats inside and some hot food and drinks on offer. If it’s sunny — and if you’re like me and are craving this ice cream despite the sub zero Scottish temperatures — you can get everything to go. Tubs of ice cream are packed to the top and will take you to outer space. I got the pistacchio flavoured ice cream today and it tasted as good as Playdoh smells. Don’t ask me how it works, but it does. With low prices like you’ll never see in the middle of the city, Renaldo’s also offer healthier options of smoothies and panini’s, plus a new range of chocolate that I almost asked for in my ice cream instead of a flake! I think they’re made locally and they’re quite expensive, but they’re utterly exquisite and look like they’ve modelled it on chocolatier’s in Belgium. If you bought them for your wife she’d marry you all over again, they look that classy. So I’ve enthused about all this great family business has to offer, but seriously — put this ice cream on your to do list. If you don’t, you’re missing out!
