Had breakfast here last week. It was ok. The English only had scrambled egg and tinned tomatoes. I had a bacon baguette. This was overpriced for streaky bacon. My husbands English had lukewarm sausage and bacon and piping hot beans and egg. Very pleasant place with friendly staff. Felt breakfast was overpriced.

Situated on the periphery of Bakewell Town Centre, adjacent to the Bridge across the river, is the Lime Lounge Coffee House. It proved to be an oasis in a storm on a busy Friday in Bakewell; quite a spacious coffee shop, with many individual features like the large wrought iron fireplace and the toilets that feel like they’ve been cut out of solid rock! A variety of seating, from comfortable sofa seats in lime and black leather, to more formal seating for dining and bar seats adjacent to the windows, so you can watch the world go by. A good varied menu; before 11.30am on offer were teacakes, a variety of things of toast, bacon butties and the obligatory Full English. We arrived there around lunchtime, with again a wide variety of sandwiches, baguettes, paninis and jacket potatoes to choose from, as well as daily specials. I went for the Club Baguette, a huge sized portion of bacon, crisp lettuce and chicken, with an accompanying balsamic dressed salad, superb. My wife had an equally flavoursome Chilli jacket potato. Washed down with a large cappuccino and a hot chocolate, all in all, a great find. Very reasonably priced too, with friendly staff.
