With time to kill before my friend’s flight we decided to get a Maud’s ice cream(as one must when visiting Northern Ireland). I thought this was just a regular Maud’s but I was oh so wrong. I’m not sure if this has been recently renovated but suddenly the massive queue made sense. The décor can only be described as a mix between willy wonka’s chocolate factory and the mad hatters tea party. So quaint and quirky — very on trend! As well as the standard ice cream they sell sweets, buns, cakes and so much more. I opted for Belgium choc, pooh bear and raspberries and cream. No regrets. I will definitely be stopping here again. Might start leaving early for the airport on purpose now!

Love this place and can’t get enough of it. Ali is legendary and treats every customer, young or old, as a special friend. We go most weeks for coffee and ice cream. It’s a joy of a café and has captured the essence of an old fashioned sweet shop. Love it!

What a place! The Parlour, which is no relation to the bar in Belfast, is a wonderful ice cream and sweet shop that really must be seen to be believed. It has an mahogany interior which suggests it has came from the Victorian age, which I doubt is the case, and has every ice cream flavour I could ever want. From sliders to waffle cones it also has all the accoutrement that you could wish for on an ice cream as well. If you are not in the mood for ice cream then why not try some of their huge selection of sweets. They have all the childhood classics, from the bitter sweet rhubarb and custard, to the seminal sweet of my childhood, Millions. Whatever you fancy, this parlour is going to have it. Take your kids as a treat, but be warned, they will not want to leave.

Slightly more expensive than a normal ice cream shop but its well worth the extra. Gorgeous home made ice cream — pooh bear is to die for, would go nowhere else!

Mauds Ice Cream is exclusive to Northern Ireland and one of the best in the world. This place is a typical Ice Cream parlour, with the usual chocolates, cones and toppings. The variety of Ice Cream is great and the staff are very friendly. Prices are maybe a tiny bit expensive, but well worth it as a treat.
