Even though my experience was just a coffee take out I’m giving five stars, very nice place with loads of happy looking customers says it all. The smell of freshly ground coffee as I walked in is instantly a winner and I had my money out straight away for two americanos and straight back to the car with them. Must try the food next time.

I’ve never actually been in this shop so its more of a coffee review Than a shop review, I sent my husband in to get us two coffees to takeaway, the cups were really nicely decorated with images of local scenery which was nice to look at, the coffee tasted nice, with a nice roast flavour, I will be back for more coffee and hopefully a bite to eat soon.

Good location. Nice scenery. Lots of space in side. Also has wifi. Food was nice though portions are on the small side for what you pay. Some staff are slightly socially awkward. What I wanted was no longer available and then thy got part of my order wrong.

I wasn’t quite sure about my experience of a lunch in this popular café, perhaps because I sat upstairs. There is a great view of the seafront as the café has one if the most enviable locations in. Bangor. The coffee and food were good and there was a busy buzz downstairs but I just didn’t enjoy my visit — probably just me!

Had lunch in the Red Berry the other day and I think it has taken me this long to review it because it was missing that wow factor! Don’t get me wrong there were some very good aspects to the meal and the place itself and the prices are excellent for each dish. The service was good and although the place was very busy we were served within a reasonable time is a good place to go if you are just looking for that quick healthy lunch time meal, but I felt that it was lacking that relaxed atmosphere.

On a wee jaunt to Bangor today I thought I would grab a quick café lunch with my mother dearest and the first place that popped in to my head was Café Brazilia — although when I walked up to the door there was a frightening queue of ladies with prams patiently waiting for a table — So I didn’t even bother to go in. Instead I went to The Red Berry — Although it was second choice on this occasion I think next time I’m in Bangor it will be my first port of call, here’s why; The Red Berry is extremely spacious — we got a seta at the window and although it was busy we could comfortably chat without getting distracted or overhearing other tables. You have to order at the counter, so go in, grab a table, look at the menu(on big boards behind the counter) then go and order. The food selection was great — a nice healthy menu. I opted for the Goats cheese and Chicken and it was excellent — loads of chicken! It was cheap too — for three meals plus 3 huge(and I mean HUGE) hot drinks it came to £23. Added bonus — service was rapid. I noticed that they also sold Suki Tea and had a rather large and tempting selection of cakes — perfect for a quick snack as well as a hearty lunch. All in all I’m glad we choose Red Berry — the food was great and the bill was even better!

I find the staff to be unwelcoming most of the time, and I always get the feeling that I’ve done something to annoy them. The food is okay, but I really fail to see what all the fuss is about

Everything you need from a coffee place. Tasty fresh food, authentic cup of coffee, and a relaxed wifi supported environment. Had the Flat White and Goat Cheese Salad and the food was exquisite for a café. Only thing is I would love to see is more coffee options but what they do have is enough to keep me coming back. Definitely worth writing home about.

I’m finding it hard to review this place but here goes. The staff are nice and pleasant and the food is mostly above average at ‘in and around’ average prices. Inside the décor strikes a nice balance between modern, comfy and cosy. On paper the only negative point would be that service could be a little bit faster. So why only 3 stars and not 4⁄5? It’s hard to say but although for me it ticks all the right boxes in theory, there’s something that just doesn’t quite gel for me about the place and detracts from the overall experience. As(good) coffee for me is the single most important part of a lunch, brunch or snack in a place like this it again comes up trumps as the Americanos and cappuccinos are pretty good, not the best ever but certainly good. Problem is even with all these points I’ve mentioned I still cant give it more. Wish I could put my finger on it properly for you. Anyway, for me, 3 stars, but as it does as I say ‘tick all the right boxes’ perhaps you wont be as sensitive to the ancient Indian burial ground its built on and you wont get the feeling that something’s ever so slightly amiss! It could be I’m just odd!!!

The Red Berry Coffee company is situated overlooking the Marina in Bangor and really has great views. It is therefore always busy, which is a good thing. The staff in here are really fab and always so friendly and helpful and full of chat. I love coming in here in the summer to enjoy some delicious Mullen’s ice cream of to come in on a cold day and drink tea and eat cake! I’m sure they do healthy food too though! The restaurant is really trendy and modern but not too over the top which is nice! Its really a must when visiting Bangor to pop in here, even just for the homemade cakes! Yummy!

This is one of the many coffee shops in Bangor but it is one of my favourites as it promotes fair trade products and sells fair trade coffee and tea. It also has a prime location almost on the sea front with decent views of the marina from downstairs and great views from the upstairs restaurant. I’ve been here several times and the staff have always been helpful, though they could be a little more helpful as the last time I visited I had been shopping and I really struggled to carry my tray to my seat — it would have been just polite to offer to help? Anyway, its not the staff’s manners that pull me back each time. It’s the most amazing Malteaser cheesecake my tongue and lips have ever had the pleasure of meeting and, even though I’m on a diet, that cake and my taste buds have become firm friends! Thick, creamy and chocolately it’s a piece of heaven on a plate. The Red Berry is the closest café to the marina making it one of the busiest also, it can sometimes be difficult to get a seat, especially when the sun is out or in the summer when the fairground rides are open in Pickie Park.

This shop has had a number of facelifts and different owners since it was Dunkin’ Donuts back in the day. It has a lovely location right on the marina and is easy to get to walking with a nice big car park just across the road. The staff are very young and helpful but sometimes its not the best of service if I’m honest. The food is good and the coffee is ok but its all pretty basic. This place alludes to being up market but it really isn’t that much about the usual coffee shops that have cluttered up Bangor in the last few years. The best thing about it is that all the products are fair trade, making this the most thoughtfully ethical café in Bangor.

The Red Berry Coffee Company(and breathe…) is one of many coffee shops and the like to have inhabited this building over the years. It was once Dunkin’ Doughnuts(remember them?!), and my cousin worked in it at that stage. Coffee shops have come, and coffee shops have gone. I sure hope this one hangs around for a while. Red Berry’s hidden secret is a little doorway situated on the Main Street side of the building, which opens into the ice-cream part of the coffee shop. Selling Mullins ice-cream(which is made right here in Northern Ireland), it is currently being given a bit of a makeover to make way for even more ice-cream. If you haven’t tried Mullins, it is seriously good stuff. I can personally recommend Belgium Chocolate, and my sister is a big fan of the bright blue Bubblegum flavour. The actual coffee shop itself is chilled, with a modern edge to it. The staff are always so polite and friendly, which is a huge plus, and the hot chocolate is definitely one of the best I’ve tried. And I’ve tried a few… The huge bonus for customers is that Red Berry is open until 10pm Monday to Saturday. That means there is really no excuse to nip down for a quick cuppa, or a relaxing coffee with friends. Yes, you heard me…
