A big supermarket for a small student, city center. It is build at the middle of the hill. It is lying between the station and a part of the student-city-center of between the Campus and bitch hill(a streets which is very, very steep.) Here can you meet other students, use the ATM(hole in the wall) an buy some good but relative good food. There is a dinning-café inside, for every costumer. It is a clean place and there are always a lot of cash registers open to pay. Not only students do there daily shop here, also, eldery, and familys. In the front of this shop, you can park you’r car. It is a big parking places for maybe 50 up to 100 cars which is quit big.

Typical Morrissons, the staff wear horrid brown uniforms and look uniformly depressed having presumably failed the job interview for Tescos. It takes forever at the tills, expect to wait. It feels poorly laid out and a bit cramped in places. It does have a good size car park, there’s always a space. It has a bakery, café(supermarket quality, but cheap, ideal if you’re in the mood), 2 – 3 cash machines, generally good value for money which serves the local student population well.

Morrisons is really cramped you feel really hemmed in by the narrow aisles. Prices are very variable and some items are far more expensive than other supermarkets in the area. The range of items is fair but often they don’t have the larger sizes so you end up buying a smaller size than you require at a higher cost. The hot pies and sausage rolls are excellent. The tills are a nightmare queuing is inevitable it seems whatever time of the day you go. The new self service tills are a nightmare to use and you constantly require staff assistance. The café is a good size but there are no newspapers to read. The self service coffee machine is stupid once one or two cups are made it takes ages before it will produce another cup of coffee giving the staff a lot of stress and the customers. The staff are very friendly though. The underground car park is very handy when it is raining.

This is possibly the worst Morrisons store in the area. The store isn’t very big, but it’s located close to the university and at all times of the day it’s packed with people — both students and locals. During the week, at lunch time, it’s also heaving with school pupils, although the comprehensive school is a mile and a half away. Despite the crowds, there is only ever a couple of members of staff on at the checkouts, and there isn’t enough room for people to manoevre around those queueing. The aisles are narrow and crowded, and there’s often boxes of goods scattered on the floor — such as bread in crates in the middle of the floor. I would hate to have to manoevre a pushchair or a wheelchair around the store. The café is always full and service is slow — there’s only a short section between the till and the main store, so people have to queue in the store, which causes even more blockages. Even during the holidays, when students have gone home, the Morrisons store is always very busy. They do have a huge car park, and there’s never any trouble getting a space.

Morrisons is a staple supply centre for the students and residents of Bangor. It may not have the glass fronted illusion of luxury that Tesco enjoys, nor is it as cheap as they likes of Aldi or Lidl but it does stock pretty much everything you need in terms of food and home products. One criticism I do have of this particular Morrisons is that the tills always seem to be slightly understaffed and the queues can seem excessive at times. This is quite off putting and can make for unnecessarily long shopping trips. A major, but perhaps unwitting, benefit of this Morrison is the car park. It’s free and handily placed for the high street.
