Grittz Restaurant

I feel like I need to update my review as since a recent name change. It is now called Hadley’s Steak and Grill it has really improved, although that being at the expense of the pizza oven which has now gone, a shame but seeing as there are so many places to get a pizza in Barnet I don’t think that’s really an issue. I haven’t sampled the new menu extensively but what I had was great. Short back beef ribs that were absolutely delicious I really savoured every bite and will struggle to not order them the next time I go in. The onion rings I had on the side were nice if not a little greasy, but hey they’re onion rings. The lamb burger with feta was also great and I really enjoyed the chocolate brownie and vanilla ice cream too. So you see its nothing revolutionary that’s on offer but it is solid very well cooked and tasty grub that isn’t too expensive. Almost like good pub grub but in a restaurant setting, I for one really enjoyed it and will be going back, it really makes a chance from all the identikit pizza and pasta restaurants in Barnet.

Superb thin crust hand made Italian pizzas, ice cold white wine and great lunchtime deals involving free ice cream. I love this place! The pizzas are good value, though some of the other dishes can be a bit expensive. There is a nice atmosphere and décor, and you can see the food being prepared.

Mum’s a pensioner. Pensioners are notoriously bad for thinking things are overpriced. (What’s my excuse then?)
One day Mum and her friend were out in Barnet and ended up going over to Grittz to get out of the cold.
When I picked them up in the car, they had a small pizza box full of Garlic bread and an unhappy look. Mum said that the Garlic Bread cost them 5 pounds and they just went ordered it because they were hungry and to get out of the cold. Mum seemed upset that the bread was 5 pounds.
In actuality the garlic bread was only 3.50 and when I found myself in Barnet I stopped here to get a pizza. The Pizza was really good, came out really fast and had a delicious crust that was thin but not to thin.
I think the prices are quite reasonable in here being that my pizza was only 6 pounds. I think Mum is going on about nothing and was simply mad I didn’t pick her up sooner.
