great pub with reasonably priced beer and a good atmosphere for drinking, the food is ok but i normally just visit for a drink with mates

This is a Wetherspoons pub, some people love them, others don’t but you have to admit they do have a good range of real ales. This is a typical Wetherspoons, with all the thin gs you expect. It is right by the market in Basildon. There never seems to be any seating outside when I visit, can’t say whether drinking outside is allowed. It get very crowded early in the day, with the older crowd, probably due to the cheap prices. The bar staff cope very well.

friendly, welcoming staff with great prices and a good selection of ales, beers wines and spirits as well as non alcoholic beverages.
nicely laid out, with many cosy areas to sit in, but can get quite cramped when the pub is busy.
great value, nice food and ales are good too.

This Wetherspoons has been used by my family and I alot over the pass couple of years. You get what you pay for. In the early days excellent value, clean environment. That is not true of late. We have given this Wetherspoons so many last chances. I was in there 2 Sundays ago for their roast, and once again we were let down with a cold dinner, dirty surroundings and slow service. Ohh and ladies try not to use toilets as the floor always feels sticky. Not a nice place to eat anymore.
