Hee’s Restaurant

Wow, recent meal over a business meeting and all were impressed. First time visit and Hee’s is everything that folk talk about. Excellent attentive service received as soon as we arrived, help with coats and seating perfect. Good wine list and menu. Ordered a set menu and just had to eat everything, so fresh, tasty and enjoyable. Really good meal and experience. Seriously, nothing to fault. Hee’s is everything it claims to be and more it really does deserve the hype.

Hees Chinese restaurant is in the middle of town on the edge of the shopping centre. The interior is quite smart (see picture), and the staff helpful and friendly.
The food was good and the prices are typical for the middle of Basingstoke: I will return, recommended.

I’ve been to this restaurant, but not to eat — I was picking someone up from there — and I have to say it looks very nice for a relatively small restaurant. The place smelled delicious and although I got a report that the menu was a bit pricey, it IS a chinese restaurant and you got what you paid for.

The food is good quality but the décor and atmosphere leave a lot to be desired. That said it probably is the best Chinese restaurant in Bazza.

A nice to decent proper sit in and eat non buffet Chinese.
A little expensive, but set meals are reasonable. Drinks in here are on the steeper side than a establishment in this class can charge.
Food wise, its the best in town with some wonderful meals to be had, its not hard to travel a bit to beat it, but locally in the town its the best.
Service is always good, and prompt, service of food can take a while, but its all fresh cooked, so you dont mind the extra wait.
It is a little over crowed and they could do with loosing a table or two to give diners the space and feel that they pay for.

Forget the menu and tell the waiter the kinds of things you like and leave the rest to him.
Perfect! Would be 5 Stars but they could lose a couple of tables to give you more space.

Not sure why Hee’s is on here twice, but just in case you found this one, i’ll add my review here too.
I found Hee’s to be a tad expensive for the quality and quantity of food you get.
However if you’re looking for a quality (ie non-​buffet) chinese in Basingstoke, Hee’s is pretty much your only alternative. I have to disagree with other reviews and say that Hee’s is an average to good chinese. If you think it’s a great restaurant then I guess you haven’t ventured outside of the town to find a better one. The set menus are OK, but sometimes lack in quantity and variety.
I’ve not had a bad meal there, it’s just not the best Chinese in the area. I’d much rather drive a few miles and go to the Jade Cottage in Thatcham for example — now that IS a great Chinese!
Saying that, Hee’s is in a good location with cheap parking at Festival Place, and if you’re looking for a Chinese restaurant in Basingstoke it’s the one to go to.

If you’re looking for a really nice Chinese meal, that’s a bit special, then this is the place for you. The set menus are great value and you definitely won’t go hungry!
Staff are very attentive, food is great and it’s a nice atmosphere. The only downsideit’s a tad expensive. But then you do get what you pay for, so you can’t have it all ways. :-)

If you’re looking for somewhere to have a good meal in Basingstoke then you cannot go wrong with Hee’s. I have never been disappointed with the food and service, even to the point of ordering off menu if what you want isn’t on theirs!
I found the service faultless, a very friendly team that make you feel very welcome from beginning to end.
Although Hee’s is a little more expensive than your average Chinese, Hee’s isn’t your average Chinese and is worth every penny.
Being based on the edge of the shopping Mall there is plenty of parking or a taxi can drop you within yards of the restaurant.
