Since I was studying abroad in Bath this summer, I was pretty unconvinced I’d be eating any authentic Chinese food for a reasonable price. Good thing I was wrong! After a recommendation from one of my flatmates, I discovered this place was only a short 5-minute walk from my flat on Pulteney Road. Even better. My friend and I both came for dinner on a weeknight, starving and ready to devour anything in plain sight. The restaurant was full of Chinese students from the university. We were seated quickly and promptly ordered. I got the Hon Fusion Special Fried Rice while my friend had the King Prawns Ho Fun. My dish was a delightful surprise! This was my first time having fried rice that was served with a thick savory sauce and topped with seafood, meats and vegetables. The portions were generous, and I ended up taking home almost half of the dish which ended up being my lunch for the next day. My friend also really liked her dish which turned out to be stir fried flat noodles served with king prawns on top. It was pretty authentic and delicious! As for the service, it was great the first time I was there but during my second time there on a Sunday evening, it was seriously understaffed. There was only one poor girl juggling the phone, taking orders and waiting on all the customers at the restaurant. My friends and I ended up waiting quite a while just to pay our bill. Although the prices can’t compare to anything in the States, £8.00 is still not bad for a hearty meal! Definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for good Chinese food at a reasonable price.

You know you are about to experience something good when you enter a chinese restaurant at 7.15pm and find it almost full of chinese customers. Went as a party of six so chose a wide range of dishes from claypot braised belly pork to spicy aubergine. Every dish was excellent even the simple braised bok choi with garlic. Service was attentive despite the crowded restaurant. Has to be in line for the best chinese in Bath

I have had about 20 meals/takeaways there, some of which were very nice, but 5 of which were appalling due to careless seasoning(excessive use of salt/sugar or complete lack of seasoning). I no longer eat there since one particular bad dish(vegetables with cashew nuts), which had a strong disinfectant-like chemical taste. I adore Chinese food, but I do not want to put my health at risk!

Very friendly staff and reasonable prices. Food standard very good as long as you choose wisely and don’t opt for things like plain boiled chicken dishes. It has become a regular haunt.

Had the fixed price lunch menu — came to about a tenner each at the end. Perfectly pleasant average food, but nothing to write home about. Pity really. If you want Chinese in this general area go to the Hong Kong Bistro opposite the bus station; itr’s just so much better.

*VERY* good Chinese food in Widcombe, most impressed. My only minor gripe was that the service was a little chaotic but they have only been open for a couple of weeks and had two large groups in so are forgiven. All in all, a superb place and a great addition to this little community.
