Came here after looking at previous raving Unilocal reviews, although I didn’t notice that most of the good reviews were from years ago so I thought a review update was in order. This place was a severe disappointment, if you are hungry, you’re better off going to any other place on the street, including the Pizza Express not 100m up the road. Fries were ok, but these burgers are far from gourmet. They are on par if not slightly below Burger King. I asked about the shakes — the teenager behind the counter that it was better than McDonald’s and I have to say after buying one and tasting it, I strongly disagree. They have a milkshake machine(like McDonald’s) and I asked for a chocolate shake, I ended up going back inside after getting food to takeaway because it tasted like a melted vanilla shake. The kid pumped some more into a new cup and showed me that it actually was chocolate shake. I asked if they were low on chocolate and the kid said it was normally like that, I also mentioned that it was melted but as I saw it came out melted from the machine. They also charged me 70p for ketchup to go with my fries, which I wasn’t really impressed by. If the owner of this establishment reads this review — please have a review of the quality of food that you are serving as the prices you’re charging are extortionate and I’d say using the word ‘gourmet’ is misleading.

I waited all week to try Schwartz bros. I was drawn in by the reviews, the chillis on the menu and the super Mario style sign. I have to say I was expecting greatness but was sorely disappointed. The burger itself(I ordered the jalapeño burger) was thin and tasteless. The toppings were nice but not great. The bun was a bit burnt. I saw the fries being poured into the fryer from a frozen catering pack. Nice but ‘gourmet’? — that wasn’t my experience.

I was expecting gourmet greatness but was disappointed. It was not so much the best burger as a ball game burger– fatty, mass-produced, grey and greasy. What saved it was all the trimmings but I wouldn’t eat one of these burgers willingly again with so many better choices nearby. Cheap, fast and tastes like it!

Schwartz Bros is decent, but it’s nothing to write home about. If Bath truly is a two-burger town, I think one of them skipped out while no one was looking. My biggest gripe is it’s clear these are frozen, pre-formed patties. As a result, even a bit of char and some quality cheese and garlic can’t mask the uniform grey and chewy, almost sponge-like texture. Also, the fries are as plain as shredded wheat. I really wanted to love Schwartz Bros, and the ambiance of the place is certainly spot-on with a quality burger joint. But you’re probably just better off going to McDonalds.

I was amused and intrigued to see Schwartz with such rave reviews, I thought they might have changed something since my last visit — probably about 6 years ago… They hadn’t, it is still a pretty average takeout, better than McDonald’s but not exactly a shining example of a burger.

We have these every time we go into Bath. I have a Road house veggie chilli burger and my lovely wife has blue cheese veggie burger. They are both delicious, but think fries are a little overpriced at £1.95. Good deal on hot drinks though.

My iPhone directions were no help, but with three 5-star reviews and a hunger for a good burger, I wandered around for at least 15 minutes until I finally spotted it(south of the intersection of Saw Close and Barton St). Rather unbecoming from the outside, I knew when I stepped it that this was the place. The powerful scent of chargrilled meat greeted me and there was no way I could go for chicken or a veggie burger. Today, a cow would be sacrificed! RAWR! *beats chest* Schwartz Brothers is only takeaway. There is no inside seating and no outside seating. I took my cheeseburger a few blocks to Queen’s Square and I spotted a bench to set down and unleash my inner carnivore. Well worth it, the burger was on a toasted bun with lettuce and tomato and some sort of sweet red pepper relish plus ketchup. Possibly the best burger I have had since arriving in the UK. Don’t miss this place!

Best burgers ever. There, I said it. Whether you’re a full-on beef lover, a veggie, or chicken’s more your thing — you’re certain to find a combo in here that wets your appetite. There are loads of sauce options to adorn your chosen filling with — the blue cheese sauce is absolutely amazing, well worth trying out. You’ll be paying slightly more than you might expect at the average burger takeaway, but then these are not your average burgers and in my opinion it’s well worth it. If you’re out in Bath and you’ve got the munchies, Schwartz Bros is definitely the place to go.

Love, love, love Schwartz Bros ever since my then boyfriend, now husband, raved about it. The man even went to have a Schwartz Bros burger 2 hours before coming to get married to me!!! On this occasion, we had the chorizo chicken burger(fancied a change from a beef burger), the Big Al burger, fries and a coke. Always good value for money, and since we can watch the guys cooking the food, we know it’s fresh. The chicken burger was great — good combination of flavours with the salty chorizo, and the freshly fried chicken burger. The bonus with the chicken burger at Schwartz’s is that they use a whole chicken breast(none of this mashed up, reconstituted malarkey!) — the only problem with this(and some may not see it as a problem!) is that the bread doesn’t fit the burger… that doesn’t detract from the taste, though! The fries here are good — crispy and well seasoned. Portion sizes are also decent — we always seem to have more food than we can manage! I’m always pleased with a trip to Schwartz — you get what you pay for — hot, freshly prepared food for a reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit if you are popping into Bath!

Best burger takeaway i’ve been to anywhere. It does a range of beef, chicken and veggie burgers. In the end its still just a burger place but its a top drawer one.

Best burger bar in Bath. Watch as your food is prepared in front of you. Veggie options are available.

Such a great place to eat, not the nicest to look at inside but the food is great, far better than other fast food restaurants in the area, I recommend the chips and burgers here, I would strongly recommend trying this place rather than McDonald for a change. Prices are reasonable, but maybe seem high before you try the food.

Yum! Lovely, fresh, big burgers! Try the roadhouse chilli burger — spicy though. All of them are nice though. Plus the chips and everything are all well cooked and the service is usually really friendly.

Can’t believe nobody’s reviewed this, the Mecca of all Bath burger joints. Check out the garlic mayo burgers — outstanding. An essential visit on a Friday or Saturday night, if only to pretend you’re in London and crammed into the last tube home. Not too sure what the smell of gas is all about though, but it’s been like that for at least 15 years and still hasn’t blown up, so I guess it’s safe.

Schwartz Bros is quite simply awesome!!! Their burgers are the best, meaty and not too greasy and you can pick all sorts of fillings to go inside like blue cheese, bacon, cheese, bbq etc. They also do chicken and vege burgers, fries and the milkshakes are really nice too. You have to wait a bit especially if they are busy but it is soooo worth it!!! A good place to go for a treat one lunchtime, and they also open late on Fridays and Saturdays so you can pop by after a drink and pick something up. Don’t bother with the rst of the chains etc, Schwartz is the best!

Used to be my favourite place to eat in Bath and I still enjoy the odd takeaway from there but it has gone noticeably downhill in the last couple of years. I would still always recommend the garlic mayo cheeseburger. Absolutely gorgeous. They often do deals as well for buy on get one free so can be a bargin too!

Only THE best burger place in Bath. Forget Maccy Ds, Forget Burger King, these are real burgers with taste and flavour that you wouldnt have tasted elsewhere. I think the secret is in the relish but whatever it is it must be tried to be appreciated. Open till late and have a great selection of foods, even vegetarians can appreciate it as they sell some great veggie options.
