We came here on a Sunday lunchtime in Feb 2010. Although they did a traditional sunday roast dinner, the real attraction was the tapas-style menu of modern English/European dishes. Between 4 of us we ordered 14 dishes including roast tomatoes with halloumi, chorizo with goats cheese, lambs kidney toasts, cider braised pigs cheeks, plaice goujons with lemon mayo, mexican wrap, roasted vegetable kebabs. Prices range from £2.75 to £3.95 per dish and everything was well-cooked and very tasty. It’s a great concept and if you’ve ever read a menu and wanted more than 1 thing on it or just wanted a whole bunch of starters, — you’ll love this.

Truly outstanding restaurant in Beaconsfield New Town. A family run establishment that has been hugely popular since it first opened in October 2004. I have been going regularly since its first week and have never once been disappointed by the quality and range of food or by the service. Some may disagree with the price rating I have given but the food itself is more than reasonably priced as are their set menus, you can easily eat a good meal there for roughly £12 per person. The added expense comes if you drink alcohol as they have a huge selection of rather expensive drinks. Personally I don’t drink alcohol so it’s never an issue for me. The menu changes on a regular basis so there’s something new every visit. The chef makes the most incredible olive bread(as well as a range of others) which is better than any bakery around. The family who run Stix are just the kindest, friendliest people who remember their regulars and welcome everyone warmly. Perfect restaurant for the family as well as for celebrations and just casual dining. If I had to scrape up anything negative to say it’s to watch out for over-ordering — when you come in hungry and look at the menu and you’re salivating over the choices, it’s easy to order one of everything you fancy forgetting that it all adds up and you may need a wheelbarrow to get you out of there afterwards!

This is a ‘theme’ place where you sit at your table and order a series of small dishes to enjoy with your drinks, for lunch & dinner. Guidance is usefully given as to the number of dishes to order. A full mix of asian, european platelets are available from a list of 20 odd dishes. A fairly decent & modestly priced wine list. Service was prompt. Food was on the whole above average, cooked to order. A couple of dishes I was not as impressed with but they were none-the-less edible and all got finished. £70 odd for 4 and abottle of wine.
