I feel like I need to update my older review of here, as this chippy has been great lately and deserves an extra star. The food is delicious and is cooked freshly on ordering, and the portions are very generous. Staff are friendly and efficient. Tonight the girl even labelled each wrapped meal for us so we’d know who owned what. They serve a range of chip shop food, with my favourite thing being their pasties — they really are one of the best pasties I’ve ever tasted. We would eat here quite a bit when I go to my parents’ house which is near here, and I really recommend it.

Just across from the Ormeau Park on the Ravenhill Road stands one of the MANY fast food places in East Belfast. I’ve ordered from here a few times, on those days of weakness where I just want something so much that is so evil and full of calories that I’ve forgotten my own name with the craving! Offering the usual dishes of fish and chips, curry chips, pastie baps, onion rings, chicken burgers and so forth, this is your usual Belfast Chip shop. It’s not bad really, and is never poor quality, although based on other chip shops I’ve been in, the portions could be more generous, and sometimes the chips are a little greasy — but isn’t that what you expect from a normal city-chippy? It’s clean inside and the staff are quick off the mark, you never have to wait very long for your food, even when there is a queue, so it’s a sign that it’s a reasonably well-run establishment. I’m not enthusing, but it’s okay, as chippies go.
