One of my favourite coffee shops. I like the green teas. The wooden tables, mirrors and lighting.

As mentioned before there’s plenty of choice in the Botanic area and to be honest Clements is a bit of a boring choice. It’s primarily a coffee shop with small amounts of food on offer. I went in here to get a quick bite and whip my laptop out. The décor is comfortable and there’s plenty of space, so it’s good for working. Yesterday I went fro their sandwich special which was The New Yorker. Although it was obviously pre made it still filled a whole and only cost £3.50. You’ll struggle to get a cheaper lunch in Botanic. The staff were great — really attentive and polite — In terms of service it was excellent. They serve you at your table so there’s no need to go to the counter. All in all if you’re familiar with the Clements brand then you’ll know what to expect. Nothing special but nothing disastrous either. A solid 3 stars.

Great place for casual coffee, meet ups and business drinks. The price is reasonable in comparison to other coffee digs.

Love Clements in botanic. Great for a late night coffee. Special last night was the Nutella cappo which was amazing.

Clements Botanic would always be my go-to for a cuppa if I ever find myself up that way. Yes, it hasn’t changed in years and perhaps is now looking a little dark and dreary despite the colourful branding all of their places have. Yes the leather seats may have you sitting at a weird angle due to wear, but it is still popular despite the local competition. While waiting for a meeting I enjoyed a little coffee there today. One of the highlights of this place for me is the people-watching. Students and business types, parents and first-daters are all here and the buzz is enough to distract from the serving of a latte in a tall thin glass. This is a pet peeve, mainly because I can be a spilly lady, but to kill time and watch the world go by, I’ll overlook it.

I love all the Clements outlets, this one is just like the others but feel a little bigger inside, on account mainly of it being a little bigger inside that the others. What has always got me about the place is that although the food options are a trifle limited next to some other cafes of a similar size, it’s quality and not quantity that they aim for, and that can’t be bad. The foods that they have will be more of a snack(panini, wrap, sausage roll etc) than a full on lunch or cooked plateful, but it will be noticeably as good if not better than the best anywhere else has to offer. While the coffee itself, for me, is definitely better than the competition. The staff are always cheery enough, welcoming and efficient. The only minus point to this particular outlet is that being bigger than the other s it can feel less cozy, but it’s OK, it’s Clements, so you’ve probably come in for the coffee, and the coffee is the best Belfast has to offer.

a very important institution during my Belfast stay — when I lived in Holylands… their vanilla steamer is still a real hit with me when I come back home in Belfast :-)

Preface: My coffee preference is typically single origin coffees using a pour over method. Since Clements does not offer these, I am not rating them according to this personal preference. I was in Belfast for one week doing research in the Botanic area in Belfast, and visited Clements almost every day for my coffee, because a friend of a friend recommended them. I had a cap, which was very well done, and americanos the rest of the visits. The americanos were also very good. They do a good job with their espresso drinks, not just pulling the shots, but with their roasts, too. I can tell they care about the quality of their coffee. I had lunch there a few times, too. I only had sandwiches, but they were always good, and the price was not too bad. The service was always excellent. The baristas always took the time to chat a bit and when they waited my table they were always happy to make suggestions and make sure my experience was good. FYI, I did go to a Clements in Central Belfast, too, and the service was not as warm there, though not rude. I’m glad the Botanic location was my main café.

Total Clements addict… best coffee in Belfast, sinful but mouthwatering traybakes and buns and fantastic homemade, flavourful soups and paninis. There are a few of them dotted around the city so my coffee cravings are always easily satisfied :)

I had my first date with this Clements when I had my first date with my wife, no doubt they both went very well. While the sparks were flying I was having the best strawberry milkshake and she was having a hot chocolate. We stayed away from coffee due on that occasion to ensure fresh breath for the all important first kiss… but back to the review!!! Clements has become the normal for coffee hangouts around Belfast, I think there five different shops around Belfast each with its own appeal and individual features. This one particular is quite big and a nice shape of room, some of the others are quite small or long and narrow. It has mirrors on opposite walls which perhaps enhances its space. There is a good drinks variety and a fine selection of tray bakes. As I said its a perfect location of a first date or a good way to kill some time reading a good book.

A great coffee shop right in the University sector. Reasonably priced and good quality sandwiches with a great deal of choice. It’s a great little stop off if you want to grab something to eat and sit down in the Botanic Gardens, which are just down the road. They serve great coffee here and I really like the lattes and mochas. The décor inside is modern, sleek and inviting. The staff are really friendly and I can’t really think of a bad word to say about the place. Oh and check out their great sausage rolls. A real treat.

This branch of Clements is a failsafe option when it comes to café mochas and cappuccinos. I’ve joined the expanding list of reviews because it seems to indicate that everybody goes here at some point. Recently I indulged myself in an enormously sticky chocolate cherry brownie which was good but not a very sensible choice, and I would say that filter coffee is not Clements forte. In future I will stick to cappuccinos etc as above. However, it’s always a comfortable place to have a break or kill time, while contemplating the enormously chunky traybakes and other chocolatey things which seems to be a speciality here.

This member of the Clements clan is one of the biggest in Belfast and with it being situated in the heart of one of the biggest student areas, its always one of the busiest. The interior is dark and quite cool. There’s a lot more use of colour compared to other Clements which like to keep it simple. What I love about this place the most though, is that there’s outside seats. There’s nothing better than chilling here on this busy street watching the world go by with one of Clements epic coffees.

This is one of the busiest cafés in Belfast. Every single time I go past or go in the place is heaving. I like this café but it’s not the quietest place I’m ever had a coffee. In all honesty the seating arrangements and acoustics mean that you can overhear every conversation in the place. They do offer special coffees of the day and they use fair trade products but its just too noisy. The bright neon colours mixed with light foods give the café a lovely modern feel and there are a multitude of papers and magazine available to keep you occupied while you drink. I’ve seen much better tray bakes in other cafes in the area and their selection of sandwiches is also not great. I have to say I find it hard to know why this café is so busy all the time — the service is average with mostly part time students working there, the drinks are what they are and the noise levels are through the roof.

This is my second favourite of all the Clement’s cafes and it’s the one I find myself in the most. The menu is exactly the same as every other branch of the chain, so there are no surprises,(although according to my best friend, there are other branches that make her Smarties milkshake better) but this one is quite big and attracts a good crowd. The atmosphere is always relaxed and there are always loads of free newspapers and magazine lying about to keep you entertained! The staff in this branch are also particularly friendly, which is always a plus point in my book!

Clements is about as good as a coffee shop can get. Despite being located a stone’s throw away from Starbucks, local Clements has always been a favourite of taxi drivers and students alike. It has everything you need from a coffee shop, with a variety of drinks, some great snacks to much on, and squidgy sofas to sit and have a big gossip on. The best place about Clements is the staff, because they are probably the friendliest staff members you will get in any coffee shop anywhere in the world. One fella in particular would happily chat you until the store closed, which is a nice thing to have in a coffee shop because often you only go in for a tea and a chat. When I was there I got some Earl Grey tea(which tasted and smelled amazing) as well as a sausage roll which was a little bit too big but its hard to criticise somewhere for giving you too much food. Definately worth calling in and it stays open until 11 at night so it is a perfect spot to go if you are having a desperately painful late-night revision session

A really decent coffee shop in Belfast’s University district. When judging coffee shops there are only a couple of things that can really distinguish them and that is price and service and this place is pretty near the top of the tree for both of these. The staff are always friendly and helpful, in fact sometimes they are just a little bit too chatty but that probably says more about me being grumpy than it does about them being intrusive. There is a bit of a student vibe about the place but not too much so non students can go in and enjoy it and there is usually a pretty mixed crowd in it. You can get a decent cuppa and surf the web and it has a pretty good atmosphere.

What a great coffee shop! Does the best hot choc in the world. Coupled with a panini, a squishy seat and a blueberry scone with white choc to top it off, Clement’s is one of my all time favourite hang out spots. Perfect for chilling with friends or holding business meeetings. Think Central Perk from Friends without Gunther running about.

Visited this coffee shop with a fellow Qype member and he’s rarely wrong. Great venue, friendly staff and I would highly recommended the Banana smoothie/shake. Perfect place to chill out and maybe even try to start to shake off the effect of an eventful night before…

Yes, the search for good coffee in Ireland has gone countrywide! I was in Belfast recently and found this cute little coffee place– turns out it’s actually a Belfast chain. The coffee is fantastic– if you can handle strong coffee– and the staff are really nice. I also tried their Bounty Square… it’s basically Bounty mashed up, on a biscuit, covered in caramel and two types of chocolate. Heaven, but even I couldn’t eat more than one of those.
