Got lunch in here a few days previously and the sandwich were so good that I had to make another visit. Hood quality food and drinks. Nice service with no waiting about. Looking forward to my next visit.

I admit to being a bit dubious on trying Deli-Lites, as my only previous experience of them is the cardboard packets they sell in garages, and I hate garage sandwiches, but that is not what you get here, thank goodness. Sprawling a corner of Lombard Street it is clean and bright, and the selection is really big, as I found myself a little overwhelmed by the choice. Luckily the staff must get this a lot as the girl who served me was very happy to guide me through it, finally settling on a piri piri chicken on ciabatta. The sandwich was well filled and tasty, with a few crisps on the side, and large enough to keep me going all afternoon. Let’s face it, it is hard to go wrong with a sandwich(though some people do) but if you are in the area it’s really not a bad choice at all, even catering for those with allergies or trying to loose a few pounds. By the looks of the cakes though which I managed to resist this time, you can still get a good treat if you are feeling naughty.

Not a bad deli by any stretch of the imagination. The range of food is fine if not extensive and there is a section on the board for more healthy varieties which seems like a good idea, I’m not sure why more places don’t peruse a health focused range since at any one point in time a large portion of the population will probably claim to be on a diet! The food is good quality but the hugely thick bread slices that made up my order were not as filled as they could have been, leading to a bread heavy sarnie a little light on the bits that have all the flavour. It was same for the toastie my daughter got. With a toastie and this kind of bread it meant the bread sucked the moisture out of your mouth and left the toastie a bit dry and brittle. Finally it was a bit pricey. For a sarnie, a wrap and a small child’s toastie and a coffee it came to over £16. Over all the impression was mixed. High quality produce served up in a slightly less than ideal way by pleasant enough staff that could maybe smile just a little more.

This place is perfectly situated for a quick stop off to grab a bite to eat and ease weary feet or brains. Just off the main shopping drag and situated around a corner the café is spacious and done up quite simply. The counter/food serving area is over to the left of the entrance and the right part is a nice seating area. Mostly I go for the sandwiches which are pretty simple but delicious and freshly made though they do soup and breakfasty stuff as well. Nothing earth shattering here but quite a cool little addition to the eating options round this neck of town. Pros: Great sandwiches, friendly staff. Cons: There are a few other good s’wich places round here.

I really like Deli-lites. They have a shop in my hometown of Dundalk which does great business and two other branches in Newry and Warrenpoint. The Belfast branch is probably the biggest one and offers great choice for anyone looking for a good value lunch in the city. What I like about them is the sandwiches are über fresh. Crusty granary bread, some of their chicken, coleslaw and cheese makes for a great sandwich. They also offer a great range of wraps, panninis and deserts and pastries. The waist watcher wrap is actually quite a tasty option if you’re watching the calories. The buns, tarts, cakes and cookies are also delicious. The staff are friendly and efficient. Deli-lites do great simple sandwiches which would put you off the pre-packaged variety for life.

This is quite a large sandwich shop in the city centre of Belfast but one which I had never even considered visiting until recently. From the outside, the shop looks more like it should be selling children’s toys. Instead it calls itself a «gourmet sandwich shop» which means usually that the sandwiches are going to be outstanding and better than anything bought from a supermarket… Hmm… It’s fine, don’t worry. But for me there is nothing that makes me want to go back to it. The staff were nice. The food was fine. My salad sandwich was well filled, and in turn filled me up. The tea was fine, if a bit cooler than I would usually have it. It was reasonably priced… Hmmm… I don’t want to be rude because there is a nice atmosphere and if people want a sandwich, this is a good place to go. But there are many better(and many worse) sandwich places in Belfast. It certainly has the potential to become something worthy. It has the staff, the food, the prices. It just needs to make all three slightly better and it’ll get an extra star. Hopefully by Christmas, this place can become a firm favourite of many because at the moment it isn’t offering anything new.

A great wee sandwich and deli restaurant situated perfectly for stopping in for a bite whilst doing a spot of retail therapy. I love the fact that everything is really fresh and all laid our for you to pick and chooses your desired fillings. They do a whole array of sandwiches, rolls, wraps, paninis and salads and also offer a selection of lovely homemade soups-perfect for the Northern Ireland weather! I had a chicken salad roll worth loads of coleslaw and it was big(yay) and delicious! The prices are fairly average for Belfast and I really would recommend popping in, whether to sit down or to get a take out. A busy haunt for the hungry employees in the near vicinity and well recommended in most circles!

This is located just off Royal Avenue and is the perfect place for a sandwich while you’re out shopping. It serves a combination of soup and sandwiches at pretty reasonable prices. Not somewhere you would probably travel out of the way to visit but certainly worth a pop in for a bite. Called in a few months back as I fancied a sandwich to take back home. Had a simple chicken salad sandwich, served on brown bread with mayo. A generous amount of fresh chicken, well seasoned on slightly soggy tomato, rocket and cucumber. Now I must say one of the few things I am not partial too is cucumber but it was thinly sliced so was acceptable. There are a couple of these stores dotted across the city, this one would definitely get my vote if you are about Belfast shopping and need somewhere to chow.

One of a couple of Deli-Lites around Northern Ireland, this one is right at the heart of Belfast’s City centre. It’s in a nice location beside all the big shops. The inside is bright and relaxed with an open plan sandwich bar. It also offers a range of soups which I take full advantage of on the cold Belfast days(and there are a lot of them). The prices are cheap and the food is always good, everything is prepared fresh on the day, although the don’t bake their own bread. The staff are bubbly There is free wifi and also computers in the café so you can chill with a coffee and browse through all your emails in comfort.
