I can’t decide whether I like this shop or not, it is a weird one. Yes, they have a massive selection of bags, some of which are nice, but they tend to be either pretty conservative or tacky. If you are looking for something different to the high street chain stores you may find something in here, but some of the bags are a lot more expensive than they appear. Perhaps I am just too young for their target demographic which I’ll take as a compliment, so it might be just the right spot to find something for your mum. ;-)

I used to call in here quite a bit, but I think it’s another shop that hasn’t really changed enough over the years to keep my interest. They used to stock a lot of interesting bags, but as fashion has moved on, those same bags are still there and are starting to look out of date and tacky. That said, I still think the stock would be of interest to older women who value timelessness over fashion(tactful enough?), and they do stock those Radley bags, which I know are very popular with a lot of people, so maybe it’s not all bad.

Although I’m more likely to spy the products that the Abbey Centre branch of this store has on offer, the Belfast branch is much bigger, and seemingly better, than it’s smaller sister locale. After debating these facts I know that it would be worth my while reviewing this location as well. Well, as I am a lover of handbags, this shop is the idea of heaven to me, and often when I walk by I often have to stop myself from even thinking about calling in here as I just know I would spend too much money if I even though about entering… Well, even as a simple window shopper I was pleased with just glancing at the bags. They’re just so beautiful. Choose from Gucci, Guess, Radley and other exquisite designer labels in a range of shapes, sizes, colours and styles.

So many bags, so little that you would want to choose. Well that’s how I felt about GD1 accessories which I visited in search of a black leather bag. It’s a nice, bright, clean, immaculate and well tended shop mainly specialising in women’s bags in blacks, blues and reds that were expensive and not for me anyway. There were also various overnight and knapsack type bags with bold designs which were quite attractive especially maybe for younger people along with some jewellery. I spent a while deliberating over some cotton scarves which were knocked down to £5 in the sale that could have been useful but didn’t buy anything that time.

Not sure if I like the handbags in here or not. Sometimes I catch one I think I like, then I look closer and it seems like something a 50-something would wear then I change my mind. Not that I’m criticizing 50-somethings, it’s just, I’m not one. Not yet anyway. They have every colour, size, shape and style of hand bag you could think of in here. But it isn’t cheap. It’s the sort of place I would imagine you would buy a handbag as a really good gift for someone else in, rather than treating yourself to one… as it’s just a little too pricey-ish. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not top end designer, it’s just not Primark. They sell lovely jewellery here too — I could look at it all day, but can’t bring myself to justify buying it. The staff are very helpful, but sometimes I would rather browse than be asked do I need help — but you can’t fault them for that I suppose. A good place to buy a gift for someone else, or to treat yourself — if you can afford it.
