I first heard about Lauren May last Christmas when I got a bracelet from there as a Christmas present, and had to call in to get the little charms to go with it.
They have a fabulous collection of gorgeous items on offer, and I ended up leaving with a lot more than the few charms I had called in for. The staff were extremely helpful to me, and advised me with my choices, and even helped me out with an item I was after that was not currently in stock.
They have a great range of wedding jewellery, amber, titanium, pearls, and they even offer commissioned pieces.
The shop is really well kept, and the staff take a great pride in their work. I feel completely at ease to browse around with help at hand without feeling at all pressured or rushed.
I will definitely be back in the coming months, as I know they will have the prefect gift for my mum’s Christmas present!

Some really stunning jewellery in Lauren May, and it’s not that expensive either. We’re talking classic designs — gold /​silver with amber, amethyst, pearl, topaz, opal etc, in the form of necklaces, bracelets and rings. They also stock some wedding rings and wedding jewellery, as well as charm bracelets and links.
When I wandered in quite late on yesterday evening, I was instantly greeted by a super friendly shop assistant… good customer service = tick. A second shop assistant had her Mr Muscle spray out, and was doing the rounds, squirting the strangely alluring scent all over the place. I’ll come back to that note in a minute…
As I surveyed the gorgeous jewellery, and tried to take it all in, the first shop assistant asked if I was after anything in particular, and did I need any help. I had to turn her down, telling her that I was just getting a few ideas.
The conversation should have ended there, but the strong, sweet scent of Mr Muscle was going to my head, in more ways than one. I continued saying, «I love the smell of that stuff!», to which the rather taken aback first sales lady replied, «you should come in here every night when we’re cleaning then!», and the three us laughed. I decided, that on that note I should leave, seeing as I wasn’t going to be able to redeem myself after *that* comment…
No complaints at all from me — exquisite jewellery, excellent customer service, and the smell of cleaning products. The last being optional of course…

This used to be the place I would go to buy all my friend’s presents, but then i stopped going for a while, I’m not sure why!
I decided to remedy this by calling in and buying my sister’s birthday present there just the other day, and it was just as lovely as always.
I wouldn’t say the stuff is particularly high fashion, but generally speaking, people don’t want high-​fashion, quality jewellery. They want cheap fashion and timeless quality. That said, the jewellery is all modern looking, rather than old-​fashioned.
There’s pretty much something for everyone here. Elaborate pieces with jewels and whatnot, and simpler, elegant, pieces.
I’m a sucker for pearls, so I always get drawn to them, and Lauren May had a beautiful selection in lots of colours. They were all freshwater pearls and were pretty reasonably priced, too.
The service was also great in here. That said, I was the only customer, so it might have been a bit awkward if I’d been ignored!

The jewellery here is lovely, lots of unusual little pieces, from elegant thin necklaces that sparkle under the lights, to heavy utilitarian designs, which scream modernity at you. Whatever your taste, there is something to attract you here. Their window display always makes me stop and take a look, as it changes contstantly and they always have lots of little sparkling nuggets out for your enjoyment. They offer lots of different jewellery ranges and brands, and it specializes in amber jewellery — I remember buying an amber necklace here for a friend who loved amber and she adored the piece, it was really timeless looking. I think this shop is a great port of call for those people looking for interesting and unique jewellery, or for those on the hunt for a special gift.
