This one of the alternatives to the usual New Look type stores I called into one day for a gift for my girlfriend. I didn’t really know what to expect but judging by the gear in the window it seemed fairly hip and up to date. The issue however was price — I saw a range of dresses very similar to a few my other half had admired in the window of Topshop a few weeks previously however they were between £65−90 for what seemed thin and flimsy summer dresses. I ended up finding exactly what I needed in New Look — despite it’s packed and bustling crowds, ridiculously harsh lights and women with orange skin a similar dress was less than a third of the cost.

For all the quirky clothes in here which ought to liven up the place, the shop retains an empty barn like feel. It’s listed as a men’s clothing shop, as already noted in another review, and I agree that the men’s clothes seem like an afterthought and certainly aren’t in keeping with the women’s clothes that dominate. They’re mainly patterned printed dresses and tops made by Disigual which ought to be nice but somehow to me just aren’t quite. There was also an incongruous scattering of children’s clothes of the same label. I wondered who actually buys anything in here, because it always seems so quiet. I got an answer the other day when the one purchaser I saw was a youngish guy — sorry I know this is really nosey — who I saw buying one of those women’s tops. I hope she liked it.

I’m really rather confused. I went into this shop yesterday(after my sister announced, «Lynne, that shop looks kinda cool»), checked and double-checked the name(yep, Ltd2 — I’ve even got photos to prove it), but this was most definitely, with a shadow of a doubt, a ladies clothes shop. I think there were a few men’s garments too, although you can never be too sure, but it definitely sold dresses and skirts and tops for females. Yet, today I go on Google to check the address, and up pops men’s clothing. The website also says men’s clothing. Oh dear, oh dear. Aside from that, I wasn’t overly impressed with Ltd2. Despite there being a sale ongoing, the prices were far from cheap. Maxi dresses from £95 to £65, tops from £80 down to £50, although they were Desigual and quite kooky. Just not my thing really. The shop was quite bare and lacked any real atmosphere. The staff were very pleasant, shouting out an «hello» and giving us a nice smile. To be honest, that was the shops only saving grace in my opinion, and I did feel awfully sorry for them. If you do like unusual clothes, maybe this is the place for you. It just really didn’t do it for me.
