After experiencing a very average meal out in Made in Belfast Cathedral Quarter, I was a little skeptical of trying again. I did however, and I was very pleasantly surprised. City Hall location was fantastic! Crab to start which was just enough and very moreish. I tried the vegetarian option for main and it was full of flavour never mind the huge portion. Curried root vegetables and butternut squash pie with sweet potato. Beautiful. Service was great, staff more than helpful, few laughs with them too which is always good to lighten the mood. Very impressed and I will venture to City Hall Made in future xx

My husband and I had a fun lunch at this quirky little restaurant last July. It’s a tad hard to find(the entrance is on a small street or alley) but it’s worth the search! Friendly service, interesting menu, hearty food. One of the brightest spots in Belfast!

I have been here several times. I like to get a good feel for a place before I write a review. I have never had a bad experience here. They have an excellent gluten free selection and overall allergy awareness. I’ve been here for lunch and dinner. The portions are huge! You can eat off their«smalls» menu too if you’re not looking for a big feed. Himself is a big fan of the steak sandwich. He says in all of our travels it’s the best he has come across! The calamari club sandwich is amazing. They have gluten free bread and the calamari is done in a gluten free batter. A yummy lunch time splurge ;-) Their Fritto Misto(smalls menu) is divine. The garlicy lemony mayonnaise that comes with it is so moreish I never want to order anything else off the menu because this is just so yummy. I highly recommend a stop here if you are in Belfast I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

We dined at made in Belfast Cathedral quarter as part of a hen party at the start of October and it was lovely. They had a large table set up in the middle of the restaurant, the place was very busy and even though we were 15 minutes late the staff were lovely. I had the parfait to start and the steak as part of a set menu for £22. The food was delicious and just the right amount of food. One of my friends who has a dairy allergy was very well accommodated and her soup was gorgeous served with a large slab of sourdough bread, delicious. The espresso martini they made me was amazing and had just the right kick for us to hit the town. Overall a really nice place to eat, really great for large groups and the atmosphere and décor is different to anywhere in the town.

First introduction to Belfast. And I couldn’t be happier that we chose this place. Great food and great service. Also, they boast an excellent drink menu. They definitely stick to what they stand for and care about the customer. The crab and soup of the day was incredible. Highly recommended! We almost went back on our three day journey!

I’ve enjoyed many a delicious meal at Made In Belfast over the years. Having not visited for a while I popped in tonight for dinner. I rate it as follows, which averages out at 3 stars overall: Cost = 3 stars: Two main courses, one bottle of wine and two cocktails cost £50 exactly. Service = 3 stars: Waiter was very slow to take our food and drink order. We sat with our menus for 15 minutes before we were asked if we wanted a drink. That as it may be, the staff were all very nice, just very busy. Drinks = 2 star: Italian Pinot Grigio(Bonotto Delle Tezze at £19 per bottle) was disappointing and more like Sauvignon Blanc. It was also quite yellow in colour, sharp, acidic and harsh on the palate. In hindsight I should have complained about it. However the passion fruit cocktails were tasty and it’s great to see vegan wines clearly highlighted on a menu. Décor and atmosphere = 3 stars: The bohemian, shabby, mismatched chic look is one I like, but is getting a little tired. Busy, buzzing restaurant but tables are far too close together thus the overall feeling is cramped. Food = 4 stars: There are a few good vegetarian options on the menu however there could still be a few more and also some vegan options. I ordered a wild mushroom and black truffle risotto with focaccia which was delectable. Try it if you visit, it’s rich, flavourful and delicious.

Nice Saturday lunch there, though it opened at noon vice the posted 11 am. Nice cocktail menu. Delicious orange mojito, beautifully served. The sandwich and risotto dishes were excellent, as was the sticky toffee pudding. Unique hipster décor, young folks dining, and strong sustainable values rounded out an overall nice lunch experience.

During my short stay in Belfast I decided to eat out once and found this place thanks to Unilocal.I’m so glad I did! Traveling alone, sometimes you really want a warm fuzzy place to eat food that was made with love. From the salad to the venison pie and the glass of wine, I was in heaven the whole time. The staff was friendly and we chatted a bit about the area. I received some wonderful recommendations about things to do in the area. If you’re going to eat out once in Belfast, this is the place.

I liked Made In Belfast’s hipster décor, everywhere looks pretty comfortable. Unfortunately despite the fact we’d booked we got a table that didn’t have much space(not ideal when both people are very tall) but with a little bit of moving about it wasn’t a big deal. We started strong with a special gin cocktail that was sweet but not sickly. The rest of the cocktail menu looked a bit tame to me, so worth checking the special. We had the house red cabernet sauvignon to drink, which to my limited palate seemed nice. Food wise we opted first for the baked cooleeney cheese to share. A twist on the classic baked camembert, the cheese was absolutely delicious. For some reason though it came with a massive loaf of bread that was impossible to finish, even with oil and balsamic vinegar and made the serving of cheese look paltry(which it was a little, between two). Also the bread wasn’t actually that great, in my view, too dense(sourdough) for its purpose. For £10, this could be improved. Mains wise, my pork belly was great. Flavoursome, well-cooked and every element of the accompaniment was tasty and interesting. I would definitely recommend this dish. My dad enjoyed his flatiron steak although found it a tad chewy. He was ecstatic about his salted caramel and chocolate tart though, so all ended well.

Best meal I had in Belfast. Stumbled upon this establishment while walking back to my hotel. I was hungry and hadn’t eaten anything since morning. Place was pretty empty so I decided I would have a late lunch. I thought the interior looked pretty cool. Service was on point. Prices were reasonable. I had the steak. Decent portion, nice sauce, came with some sides.

Food and service was amazing! Had the Rarebit Burger and it was one of the best burgers I have eaten. Chips deep fried in burger fat were good also. We also had the whole baked Irish Cooleeney Cheese for a starter and it was good too. I would highly recommend this place. Our server was Matt and he provided excellent service.

These guys have a few quality food-stops in Belfast, but this is my favourite. The seats may be mis-matched and sometimes uncomfortable and the décor busy by anyone’s crazy spinster aunt’s standards, but for me it rocks. They pride themselves on using local sustainable produce(recently winning sustainable restaurant of the year) and you can tell. I had the pork belly with potato cake and some sort of jus which was mouth watering, and actually just writing this makes me want one now. I also ‘borrowed’ a couple of my friend’s chips and they were crispy as a crispy thing of joy. While the food is always good, if you are there check out the cocktails which at 5 quid a pop are good value, and don’t judge me for having one for pudding. ;-) The fact I’m planning my next visit already says it all!

It’s been 6 long years since I came here last and raging toothache would not stop me coming back. Things have gone well in all that time it seems, and the place was packed on a rainy night in December. I had celeriac soup and Homily pie. The soup served in a tin mug and a massive chuck of bread sat beside it on the chopping board. Glad to see they have stuck with the enamelware and eclectic décor. Wonderful.

One look through the door of this place and I knew it would be a hit. Belfast was not the place I expected to find a restaurant with this kind of hip vibe and eclectic décor, but Ireland has been full of surprises. I love it when none of the furniture matches! Is that weird? Everything about the place just made me happy: the crazy décor, the good tunes playing over the speakers, the fact that all the food was locally sourced. This is where good hipsters go when they die. The food was all delicious, from our starter of baked cheese and bread to my pork belly with some kind of pork fritter and creamy whipped potatoes in the form of colcannon to my chocolate tart with salted caramel ice cream. Even found some local craft beer to escape the Guinness/Smithwick’s death spiral most of Ireland seems to still be in. If I lived in Belfast, this would be my go-to for fun evenings out on the town.
