For the first time ever outside my parents house I saw plates of the same old fashioned pattern — Almond Willow, Doulton that my great grandmother got them for their wedding present in this very shop! Some 50+ years later a few more sideplates wouldn’t go amiss so I impulsively bought them and no doubt they will be on parade on Christmas Day with the others as usual. China aside, this is a great charity shop with plenty of clothes, mostly for women, books, toys, films, dvds and homewares which was doing a brisk trade the Saturday I returned for my plates. For me an exciting find and it’s good to be able to contribute wholeheartedly to a good cause.

As I have said in some of my other reviews, I am a massive fan of charity shops. I really like checking out second hands clothes and knick-nacks. You can get some real bargains and even if you don’t you don’t mind spending a couple of quid because you know it is going to go to a good cause rather than going to a big, faceless corporation. I, for one, prefer that. This particular wee shop is really nice, I’m definitely a fan of it. Its just down the road from my work so I have called in a couple of times on my lunch and have got a couple of items in here that I like to wear from time to time. The staff are friendly and helpful and as I said its all good that the money goes to a really worthy charity. Top Stuff.
