I can honestly say I have never had the misfortune of dealing with such an awful company in my entire life until I encountered this place. I went to view an apartment and the girl taking us around was lovely(literally the only nice thing I will say in this entire review). As we were walking in the main hallway of the apartment there was a hole in the wooden floor bigger than a 2 pence piece, she saw me looking at it and told me not to worry, it was already booked to be repaired so that was grand. The further we got through the place seemed in a relatively ok order. When we got into the office to apply, we were greated by a sour faced girl who was doing her best to be pleasant but wasn’t succeeding very well. We went through the relevant forms, paid the deposit and first months rent and gave a date for the following month to move. On the morning of our move in date we got our smaller things in bags to bring to the apartment to make a start and i’m so glad we did! The guy who did the cleaning was walking out of the door when he saw us and brought us up to explain where to top up the gas and electricity. The first thing I noticed walking to the door was that same musty smell coming out but hoped a few days of the windows being open would help that. The second thing we noticed was that hole in the wooden floor was still there… after a full months notice of us moving in! We asked the guy but he told us to ring the office so I bit my tongue and planned to do just that when he left. The second thing I noticed was the two part cooker was hanging out from under the counter but thought the guy must have been cleaning it so can shift it back into place but then I noticed how filthy the worktops were and I mean literally filthy! I went to the double doors that lead outside to nothing except a safety rail to air the place out and the blinds flung off onto the floor. The guy said he’ll tell them when he gets back to the office. By this time I was getting pretty pissed off(again, they had a months notice!). We went into the main bedroom where there was a bed as advertised and my friend who was helping with the move lifted a loose sheet off the mattress and there was PERIODBLOOD, loads of it! And urine stains all over the damn thing! The bed frame was also broken down the middle. By this point the three of us were dry heaving and I nearly broke down because by this stage I realised we either had to live here or be homeless. We wanted to find out what else we let ourselves in for… Shaped in the corner of the room there was a chest of drawers. We moved them away and globs of nasty filth were just shoved into the corner, we opened the bedside dresser drawers and they were packed with all the junk of the day. We went into the bathroom, reached for the light and there was no pull cord! Because there is no window in there you’d have to pee in the dark every time you needed to go. By this stage the cleaner was getting seriously embarrassed. I turned the torch function on with my phone and the black grime surrounding the bath and taps were enough to make anyone sick. The cleaner obviously didn’t even attempt to clean it as he wasn’t even aware it had no pull sting for the light so why he’s hired, I’m not sure. The storage cupboard had a hole in the ceiling and I finally understood why people were telling me to avoid these guys like the plague. I went down to the office to make a complaint about the disgusting standard of the place and demanded an answer as to why they could let me walk into that the way it was with an entire month to do their job before I got there. I refused to move in and was told ‘I signed a contact’ I agree that I did sign to take it but the worst parts of this place were hidden and I was sure for the money I was spending each month wouldn’t be worth it. The manager told me he would bring a new mattress up when he finished work. By about 9 or 10 that night I went up to see if he did as he promised but nope, same old bloody nasty urine stained piece of filth was still there. The next morning(I had to go back to my parents house for the night with all my furniture loading their halls and a £2000 sofa outside their back garden) I got a call from the office to tell me I have to top up the gas for a guy to come out to check on it. I told her no, I wasn’t topping up anything I wasn’t moving into, explaining that the place was unlivable so until they do the work on it I’m not moving in. She virtually demanded, telling me I had no choice so I lost the plot and went straight down to them, demanded the manager again and showed him every single picture I took of that horribly maintained place under their management. I gave him my phone to go through the images and when he was done he looked at me and said«I take it you want a refund» and gave me my money back on the spot because there was no explaining it. Stay away.
