I like pound land for stationary cds and dvds and sometimes some of the food they sell works out good value. I got a tube of superglue that would have cost me nearly a fiver elsewhere and it was uhu brand and same size as other shops. It worked well and i eventually got my fingers apart. You can get a bargain but as with anywhere it depends on what you need. Also I can recommend the spray paints for cars, they only do grey primer, white and black gloss. Very good coverage for small cans and much better quality than Halfords range, ideal for small projects. Their tools aren’t really up to much but there’s sometimes good things to buy and cleaning products are a good saving over the supermarkets.

This is the Connswater branch of the all conquering chain of pound shops, like the rest of them, it sticks to the basic principles of stack ‘em high, sell ‘em cheap, although they do stock the excellent Reggae Reggae ginger ale, worth a quid all day any day. As usual the place is bunged to the gills with folk and there are not enough checkout staff on, but considering the money you’re saving, that’s perfectly acceptable!
