Stayed here before. It’s ok, but nothing special. It’s a bit of a ‘Nigel & Fiona’ hotel during the week. If you’re the type of human being that enjoys looking down your nose at people, then fill your boots.

Unpersönliches Konferenzhotel, das drinegnd eine Generalüberholung benötigt. Liegt weit ausserhalb der Stadt.

I found this hotel through the Easyjet website, and I thought it was great. Having previously stayed at a number of swish but rather cramped hotels in the centre of Belfast, the Ramada is a nice change, being several miles outside the centre in leafy and afflluent South Belfast. A really good thing about this hotel is the courtesy bus that it runs. I saved a fortune in taxis using this friendly and reliable service. Ramada Belfast is a bit lacking in soul, but it is clean, the rooms are of a decent size and the breakfast is good.

I visited the Ramada this weekend for a wedding reception, and was incredibly disappointed. From the moment we tried to check in, there was problem after problem. First we were told we had been moved to another(inferior) hotel, despite having booked six months ago, and confirming the booking only 4 days ago! We then worked our way through six keycards that didn’t work(and the receptionist didn’t believe us). Other relatives were told their room was not ready, and they finally gained access at 6pm. To top off the rooms fiasco, the mother, father and sister/maid of honour of the bride were told that they too were being sent to a different hotel, as there was no room for them either! The coolers on the beers upstairs(at £4 a pint) were broken, resulting in warm, bad tasting draught beer. The fridges had not been turned on and the contents were also warm. Anyone who wanted a pint had to go downstairs to the residents bar, where the bar staff informed us that the coolers upstairs had been broken for a week and an engineer was not due out until two days later. The food was of a decent standard, though the main course(chicken) was dry and tasted as though it had been left under a hot plate for some time. The service left a lot to be desired, with a guest at our table being hit in the face with a plate, another having her tea removed from under her nose before it was finished and the wait staff neglecting to provide wine and tea/coffee for several tables. Fortunately the ineptitude of the Ramada did not detract from what was a wonderful occasion, however I would highly recommend that it is avoided! If I could give it no stars I would.

The Ramada Hotel is one of the newest in Belfast and has a great location beside the River Lagan and Shaw’s Bridge. It is a great venue, as a hotel, for places to eat the bar is good and the Indian restaurant is very good but lacks atmosphere as it is rarely if ever busy. For functions the food is standard fayre but the staff are usually helpful and the bar is almost always well stocked together with the wine list. There is also an adjacent gym and lots of places outside to go for a nice walk. It is always busy !

I’ve been to the Sunday Carvery a few times. Food is average, nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about either. Slightly expensive for what it is. The only thing that put me off was the whole fish staring at me as i ate. YUK!

nicely sized comfortable rooms, great service and freindly staff prices could be slightly more reasonable but overall i enjoyed my stay!

If you are looking for Sunday buffet, then the Ramada Hotel is your place. I have been to many buffet meals in many hotels. But this has to be the largest choice of starters you are likely to get at a buffet. Soup, seafood, rice, ribs, quiche and more. The meat is your usual choice, beef, lamb, pork and turkey, all well cooked, portions are plentiful. The sweets are outstanding but the cheesecake is a must. All this for less than £15
