Sainsbury’s is a well known retailer throughout the UK and it recently expanded its position within N. Ireland by opening its 11th store, at the Kennedy centre in Andersonstown. For those of you who are not that familiar with Belfast, Andersonstown is in West Belfast and is notorious for its residents connections with all things Irish. Most Sainsbury’s stores look the same, smell the same and have the same level of customer care. However this new store certainly stands out from the norm. Upon arriving at the store one is struck by the sheer cleanliness of the place with not a thing out of place. What is even more noticeable is it’s Irish connections, every banner, welcome sign and poster is written in both Irish with the English translation underneath it. This makes this shop different and certainly fits in with the surrounding area, which for me is a nice and thoughtful touch by a big British store. Overall a very clean and friendly store and the Irish signage makes it both unique and memorable.
