Shutopia is literally heaven for all you bargain shoe buyers. It’s like a giant Barratts outlet type store(with a whole lot of Barratts shoes incidentally), but better. And we all like better… I can’t remember the number of times I used to drag my then boyfriend into Shutopia. He hated it(did I expect anything less?), but I was more than happy to parade the aisles in various types of shoes and try and find a bargain. There’s a great range for men, women and kids, with everything from formal shoes to boots to sandals to flats. And one day, I found them. A pair of ruby red pumps, super comfy and in a size four(which never happens… I always end up finding size eight or nine ladies shoes), and at the most bargainous price. You’ll never guess how much. Honestly. Three pounds. Three pounds! I wore them to pieces… literally. RIP red shoes. You were fabulous while you lasted. Ah yes, Shutopia. The Queen of shoe shops.

This shoe shop has been in Yorkgate for a while and I’ve only just discovered it. It has some real bargains if you have the patience to fight through the prams, toddlers and other folk who seem to hang around there perpetually. It’s not high-end shopping, definitely — but worth a look if you want something cheap. For those who like a good high stiletto, there are lots of cheap and nasty looking day-glo multicoloured high heels, but I think I’m past that now, although they are great for the younger types and won’t hurt thier pockets too much. The boots are great, there is a massive selection, almost too much choice in a way — if you are indecisive you could be here for hours. But they have great handbags, that’s what I like about the place. I got a great black patent bag with bright yellow interior with lots of space for all my ‘rubbish’(as my husband calls it) and it was only a tenner.
