Good selection of teas and traybakes. A nice atmosphere with friendly staff. Tried the green tea and mint!

Was a standard café. Staff lack personality. Tried to make conversation with two but wasn’t happening. Place was clean. Had a blueberry and White chocolate scone. Was pretty bland. Glad i was sharing it and not eating a whole one.

Sinnamon is a nice wee coffee shop. Good coffee and bakes. It has the benefit of outside seating in leafy Stranmillis. If I could fault it on anything it would be that it’s one of a multitude of similar types of coffee shop that are are everywhere in Belfast. Good enough but nothing different…

Popular wee coffee shop! Always busy but being located in student territory that doesn’t surprise me! Friendly staff, great food and lovely tea :) Plenty of places to sit and free wifi. The fact that it is open late is what attracts me most as an evening person! And contrary to others’ opinions not pretentious at all.

Sorry guys, terrible service today. Very rude and unfriendly counter staff. Went to Clements instead. Ordered a coffee, was told 10 – 15 minutes wait. I asked why?(Thinking that was a long time to wait for a coffee) the girl just replied«we’re busy» in a very unpleasant tone. No apologies or explanation. I know why I buy coffee in Starbucks now.

It is okay. An okay place to sit. The staff are ridiculously slow, they’re friendly though. The coffee is not the nicest, Clements across the road do better coffee but depending on your mood it is less nice to sit in. There are usually plenty of places to sit in it so it is a good place to meet friends. They have wi-fi. The music is usually decent.

Been here lots of times for lunch time snacks and must say have always enjoyed the food. The staff have always been very friendly and would highly recommend going here for a bite to eat. The service can be quite slow sometimes when busy and they have messed the order up more than once but apart from that I cannot complain. Food has been excellent, I mostly get paninis and they offer a different soup everyday.

Whilst I adore good coffee and pour an absolutely astounding amount of it down my neck, there are not very many coffee shops that I like very much. Shops that I favour are generally fuss-free, sell great whopping big mugs of good quality stuff, and don’t have a hoity-toity clientele. So I don’t like Sinnamon very much. It has a rubbish name, the other customers look all scrubbed up and shiny(not unlike their annoying laptops), the shop itself is more reminiscent of an operating theatre, the overpriced(and not particularly good) takeaway coffee is presented in a piddly little cup with an artistic little milk swirl in the shape of a feather on top. I suppose this is Stranmillis, but there isn’t really a fine line between being highly pretentious, and just doing a simple thing well.

Ahh yes, the usual Belfast coffee shop. As I have said in other reviews, I’m not a big coffee fan, and I’m even less of a fan of coffee shops, particularly ones that are a bit pretentious. I guess they’re a nice place to go get a cuppa or what not but what is the point really? The food is always overpriced in these place and I don’t care what you say, putting a few McCoys on the side of a plate does not constitute a proper lunch. As far as this place goes, its a pretty good pretentious coffee shop. The stuff is nice enough, particularly the waffles, and the staff are dead on and friendly. They deliver a solid enough service without it being spectacular. Other people will love this place, I just disagree with it in principle.

Sinnamon is a great coffee shop on stranmillis offering delicious coffee, yummy desserts and great lunches. The café has a really nice relaxing non pretentious atmosphere and the staff are really great too. Bringing your order down to you so you can chill out and get a seat, on the sofa if you’re lucky! They offer wifi which is great for people on the go and have two computers at the back if you need to do some surfing. The danishes, are actually, amazing! They’re so delicious they should be illegal! And they make a really good cuppa tea too which is a rareity! Great place for a catch up or to chill with a book or magazine!

Despite this particular coffee shop already having three reviews, I felt I had to add my tuppence worth, and inform the readers of my experience, and namely the waffles. Mmmmm. I’d never actually been to Sinnamon in my puff before, so I was delighted when my friend suggested it be the location for a long overdue catch-up. Despite us arriving there(with a third friend) before noon, we each decided to buy lunch — my first friend ordering the soup of the day, my second friend ordering the chicken caesar salad, and I ordering the pizza panini. With a slight twist of course… being my fussy self, I swapped the pepperoni for chicken, and apologised for being a pain in the process. The barista just laughed at said that my fussiness was nothing compared to some. Phew. Panini was fair enough… nothing too exciting, and it wasn’t particularly big, so I was left with a little gap in my tummy. Eyeing the dessert board, I spotted ‘Waffles’ for £2.50, with your choice of topping for additional sum of money(everything from strawberries and ice-cream to smoked salmon). Well, I didn’t even hesitate to consider whether or not I’d actually be able to down an entire waffle. Nope, that wasn’t even an option. Waffles have been a huge love of mine since I went to Belgium two years ago, yet the interesting thing is, I don’t think I’ve bought one since I got back. Mmm. Ordering it with chocolate sauce on top, I paid the £3.00 some-odds, and happily sat and waited for my delicious dessert to arrive. I wasn’t quite expecting such a huge waffle — I mean it really was massive. A sort of elongated oval shape, covered in warm chocolate sauce. Hmmm. It was sweeeeeet. And yes, I couldn’t finish it. But I didn’t care. I’d gotten to eat a waffle in Northern Ireland, and that was all that mattered. My life was now complete…

I stumbled upon Sinnamon whilst on a caffeine fix prowl and it was much to my delight I discovered this brilliantly named coffee shop. I ordered a large mocha, which was very reasonably priced at £2.45 for a large mug(most large drinks were around this price) and I sneakily treated myself to one of their scrumptious looking fifteens(I’ve a weak spot for them, and it was delish!) There were a few things which drew my attention here … the handy automatic door, the outside seating and the gorgeous looking food. The sandwiches did seem a bit pricey but I’ve been told they’re worth it. The shop also offers a take away service, handy for people on the go.

It’s rare for me to be a loose end on a Sunday afternoon but the other day that was my situation. I was looking around Botanic Avenue and noticed a branch of Sinnamon coffee shop, which is relatively newly opened, and, having heard good things from my daughter about the other Sinnamon on Stranmillis Road I went in. The cappuccino I ordered had a good fresh flavour and had evidently made with great care. Though I wasn’t hungry or greedy enough to try out any of the sweet things they all looked good. Sinnamon Coffee also offer catering services for businesses and private events. Decent newspapers to look at are especially important in a café on a Sunday. They are amply provided Sinnamon along with leaflets about the more interesting looking local events. I whiled away a relaxing half hour or so in what turns out to be one of the nicer cafes along Botanic. It was very welcome especially on a Sunday which is not really the most rewarding day to be out and about in Belfast.

This place is a nice alternative is the teeny-tiny Clements across the road(although their Rice Krispie squares aren’t quite so good!!!) It’s quite big inside and there are loads of sofas, so it’s a very cosy place to sit in and have a chat. You have to order at the counter, but the food and drink is brought to you, which is nice. Also, they do that thing where they shake cocoa on the top of you latte in shapes(leaves, hearts, stars and whatnot). That might not be that exciting, but it just gives it that bit of personalisation and makes you feel that the staff aren’t just robots pressing buttons on a coffee machine. There’s wi-fi in the place and two desktops at the back of the café, which is useful when you get into a discussion over which one was the red turtle and you simply HAVE to know! It was Raphael by the way.

I wouldn’t usually be up this end of town, my student days now being long gone behind me in my distant past, but I was recently in the Stramillis area for a conference connected with work, and I called in here during lunchtime for a quick cup of tea and a snack — I wasn’t in the mood for lunch(yes, I hear you gasp). Anyway, they take your order and bring it to you, which is a nice touch, unlike the likes of Starbucks that make you wait like an eejit for your frothy drink in a line that is vaguely reminiscent of the food queues in Soviet Russia… but I’m wandering. The tea and traybake were lovely — the traybakes in general all look gorgeous and I had a tough time choosing just one. They have free WiFi in here too which is definitely an added bonus for those poor students needing internet access to check their facebook, er, I mean — to do all those essays and dissertations… ;)
