I feel I must start by saying that this is defo not one of the Spar chain’s best outlets. It always feels and smells a bit fusty, and it’s so cold inside that they don’t really need any food chillers. But the chillers they do have could do with a good clean. Although it’s a decent sized corner shop, the selection available is pretty basic. Maybe they’re catering for their market to be fair to these guys. There are a couple of things though that I don’t think anyone should buy — I have seen flies on the sandwich bar and a dog sniffing around the vegetables which are inexplicably stored on the floor. Seriously. However when I’m really in a hurry and need something that comes in a sealed box, I will run in and grab it. You can get the usual bread, biscuits, tins etc so this little shop does have its uses. I would also pick up the paper here and the biggest plus is that this Spar has a HUGE selection of magazines so there is some good news. Like most small shops, they only take cash unless you are spending over £10.
