This is a good sized Spar, almost directly facing the Europa hotel. Spar, as you may or may not know, are small convenience store/mini-marts where you can get all the daily essentials. What I really like about this one is their daily specials. They do a sandwich, a packet of some cheap Spar crisps, and a bottle of Spar water for £2.49 — bargain. That’s great for people who are on the move all day and don’t have a lot of time. Even better than that, though, is at their small hot food counter where you can get lasagne, some wedges, and a bottle of Spar water for £2.99. What a bargain! The day I got it it certainly wasn’t miserable. It was a good sized portion and I wasn’t hungry after it. Obviously it’s not the best lasagne you’re ever going to get — lasagne that sits under a heat lamp never is — but what do you expect for £3? It was decent and it was made that day. I’d get it again. Visitors should know, though, that Spars aren’t places you can sit in — the food is always to go. But when you’re on holiday and you need to eat at least one cheap meal a day, this would do the job.
