I’m giving this spar a 5 star review. Its a regular call in off mine on the way to work. I would have given 4 but it underwent a bit of a shift around a few months ago which uncluttered the place and made it much more user friendly. The shop has a great variety of stock and a really good sandwich and hot food counter. They do some excellent deals like meal deals and breakfast bap specials(see tip) All of the staff are extremely helpful and friendly and its just a nice place to stop by and pick up some bits and pieces. I know some others have reviewed here and mentioned the business during term time, but I’ve never found that to slow up the service or have a huge impact while I’m in there. Definitely a nice wee regular ‘corner shop’ with all the bits and pieces you need.

This Spar is a good shop with a good variety of products, often with good offers and deals. It’s handy to nip into for lunch and there are sandwich meal deals, a hot food counter, and a sandwich counter. You can also get ice-cream. There is an ATM outside too which is handy. A great shop to call into is you’re nearby and need lunch or groceries or similar items, however be warned that the shop can be very busy when the university students are around as the shop is both near the university and also the student housing area.

As far as convenience stores go this Spar is actually pretty good. It has a great deli counter selling a range of cooked breakfast items, freshly made sandwiches, wraps and salads. Additionally they have a coffee machine and stock freshly baked croissants, pastries and cakes. There are a lot of other items too — magazines, stationary, prepackaged sandwiches, fruit, ready meals, bread, confectionary, household cleaning products, painkillers, deodorants and shower gels etc. Much better laid out than a lot of similar shops and the prices are reasonable, plus there’s an ATM outside. Only one drawback exists — this Spar is located near Queen’s University and in a main student residential area, hence it’s swamped with customers during uni term time. Can be extremely busy, especially around midday.
