I’ve always loved this cute little building at the gates of Stormont Estate, and was thrilled when it was brought to life with this aptly named café. It has turned into quite a busy little spot, populated with ladies who lunch and politicians sneaking out of Stormont to put a pastry on their expenses perhaps ;-). The menu is pretty simple but there is a good variety and every time I’ve lunched here the food has been utterly yum, even if it was just a bowl of soup or a ham and cheese sandwich. It is not the cheapest place for a snack, but it is the only place near the estate and the service can be a little hit or miss, otherwise I would have given a full 5 stars.

Nice to go somewhere in Belfast other than a garden centre for lunch! Nice location on Massey avenue right by Stormont — a nice stroll in the grounds after is recommended. Went on a bank holiday so service was slow and like many places in Northern Ireland the service let it down as waited quite a long time to order and get our food. A simple yet satisfying menu from subs/sandwiches, soups, pies and salad. Something to suit everyone. I had the pulled pork baguette which came with a side salad and«ruby ‘slaw». Was tasty and portion was plenty although some crisps or similar on the side wouldn’t have gone a miss. Overall a nice little place to go for lunch or perfect as a coffee catchup kinda place as the tray bakes looked incredible and have a great selection of teas & coffees.
