Handy subway inside a big garage, I got the sub breakfast, I got bacon sub with coffee for £2, good value. The breakfast is from 7am to 11am. Coffee seems to have improved a bit. There are a few seats in this subway so you can sit inside or takeaway. I sometimes get the cheese toastie at 99p, great for a quick fill up snack.

This one is part of the filling station in Ballyhackamore, it’s a very small kiosk with limited seating, however service is quick and friendly, ingredients are fresh, AND they do a good job of keeping their breads and fillings ‘in stock’ without the empty containers and gaps I’ve seen in some other branches. They take payment by card and cash, the store itself offers cashback too, so really easy to pay.

I feel this branch of Sub should be singled out for a special Unilocal mention as it is staffed by the most pleasant sub makers I have ever come across. They manage to do their repetitive job with smiles and polite chat which can’t be easy. How many times can one person ask ‘What type of sub would you like that on?’ with a smile. I think I could manage two or three times before losing the will to live. Not these guys so much respect for that. Obviously the food is standard Sub Way fare and very nice it is too. I was always a chicken terriyake girl but have just discovered the pizza sub at a very pleasing £1.99. Cheese, salami and tomato. Yum and really does taste like a pizza. This branch of Subway is within a Spar and so if I’m feeling really really frugal, I get my drinks and stuff there first and then order my Sub. Seeing that in print makes me feel somehow ashamed. l may have to stop that habit. Subway guys of Upper Newtownards Road, I love your work.
