Came here for my work Christmas dinner, the food was amazing. I had the traditional Christmas dinner and it was by far the tastiest restaurant turkey dinner I have ever had. All our meals were piping hot and everyone was more than satisfied. The strawberry daiquiri in the bar were delicious too. The dj was brilliant and the atmosphere was electric. I have eaten in the restaurant before via a Groupon steak meal for 2, it was delicious. Steak cooked to perfection, pepper sauce was beautiful and a lovely bottle of prosecco to wash it down. Will definitely be back there again.

Ten Square is a bit of an odd one, I’ve been in a few times but I’ve never eaten, that is until today. I had an impromptu meeting with my sister in law in Belfast and we thought we’d get out of the cold. Ten Square was the logical destination due to proximity really. This isn’t somewhere I would usually go, it’s perhaps a wee bit fancy for my usual attire — ripped jeans and trainers. Anyway today was great. We went in and were able to get a table quickly, despite it being 1pm. The staff were attentive, I even got called ‘Sir’ which was a nice novelty. We were in a rush so I selected The Fish Pie, it came out within ten minutes. It was beautifully presented with a cheesy, creamy mash on the top. The pie was full of local seafood, including prawns, muscles and chunks of salmon — these delights were bathed in a rich creamy sauce. On the side I was given two thick cut slices of wheaten bread although one would have been more than adequate. Overall I was extremely happy with my lunch. Price wise it was excellent — just over £16 for two hearty lunches, a coffee and a soft drink. Can’t complain about that! Four stars and a big thumbs up from me! I definitely won’t be put off in the future!

We were looking forward to staying at Ten Square, but we were extremely disappointed. On arrival, we discovered that instead of an upscale boutique hotel, we were staying in a construction site. The front desk was a temporary table in the middle of construction. To reach our room, we had to cross through construction. During the day, there was so much noise, that we really could not rest. The hotel bar and restaurant were under construction, although somehow opened in a weird state every evening. Even the hotel entrance kept changing, depending on what they were doing to the lobby that day. On checkout, we noted how ridiculous this was and asked for compensation — the«night guard» said he’d have the manager contact us. When that didn’t happen, I wrote — the manager implausibly wanted to «discuss» the issue instead of simply offering us anything. While I applaud the owners’ goal of improving the hotel, doing so with paying guests onsite shows an appalling lack of hospitality.

Tim Y’s review was spot-on: Leann was awesome! I think she was the most helpful hotel employee I have ever come across. Overall, I liked the Ten Square — the room was lovely, the location was great, and the service was excellent. My only gripe was that the free wifi didn’t work well from our room, but we were able to get online without any problems in the lobby.

My stay here was only one night, but I’d not hesitate for a moment to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for great accommodations in downtown Belfast. Leann(whose name I’ve undoubtedly butchered) at the front desk was amazing. She reserved a table at a local restaurant that was simply outstanding and much needed after a full day of travel and mediocre lunches. She asked repeatedly if she could help with plans around town, luggage, gave advice on parking on the cheap, and was simply a kick-ass ambassador for the hotel and indeed the city for this new visitor. Many might read this and say, «that’s their job», but there’s a difference when you feel like you’re actually being cared for and that the advice you receive is accurate. The rooms are modern, clean, and well-lit. Beds are comfortable and the room not overwhelmingly warm despite unseasonably hot weather. Free WiFi was a bit spotty in-room, though mine was at the very far corner of the hotel. Reception was far better elsewhere; for free, I’ll take what I can get and I’ve certainly had worse hotel Internet access. The bar area seemed pretty popular with locals and tourists alike, though I did not stop in. Outdoor seating provides for good people-watching on a busy street. If you’re staying the night and have a car, you can pre-pay the street meters once they’re off-hours. Very economical way to legally park right outside the front door!
