Tesco Express, like every other Tesco store but apparently faster. It’s not. This Tesco’s is situated slap bang on the Dublin Road where hundreds of people pass every day. Therefore in terms of store location it is pretty central and convenient. However, I get a little annoyed when I call in to grab the vital goods to restock my diminishing cupboards as their range is so much smaller and what I want is never there. As well as this I always seem to miss out on the lunch time goodies such as pre packed sandwiches and items for their meal deal offer. So if your an office worker in that area get down early to avoid dinner disappointment. There are a few members of staff who are friendly but some look and act like they couldn’t think of a worse place to be than in that store at that time. Disappointing really. Recently I popped in to get a few things for dinner, but found that all the fridges had been turned off due to a fire at the back of the store. My reaction was not a pleasant one as this discovery was made after I realised the air conditioning had also been affected by this fire. Hot and sticky, I sulked out if the store.

This is one little money making machine for the big dogs down at Tesco’s. This store popped in a location surrounded by pubs and clubs, busy offices and student haunts. It’s always packed. So in terms of being anything remotely connected to the word ‘Express’ I think their kidding themselves. Due to its littleness, Tescos think’s it ok to charge a lot more than they usually do in the Supermarket but people just go along with it for sheer convenience. Myself included. Whenever I’m wondering back home from town and couldn’t be bothered doing a proper shop, I’d call in here to get something for dinner. Once again, laziness prevails over thrift.

This is for an intensive purposes my local shop, both Tesco and shop of any kind and it’s where for many a month I’ve been coming for my daily food and wine needs. This is an express store so don’t expect the same level of selection normally found at the larger premises. There’s a wide range of sandwiches on offer, fruit and veg, a meagre selection of chilled and frozen foods as well as a small off license. As I’ve found out over time this is not the place to do your weekly shop for more than one reason. Prices are a little higher across the board for products and the range is limited. It is however fine for calling in for the paper, a quick meal or a bottle of wine.

This is a smaller, ‘bitesize’ version of the megastore you get dotted around the country. This particular Express version isn’t that great. Although the prices are the same as their bigger versions, the selection is poor. Even though this is supposed to be the ‘essentials’, the shelves are often empty and the security man at the door makes you feel like you are shoplifting even though you aren’t. Chances are what you want isn’t in this shop. It’s a mish mash of bits and pieces, but it simply isn’t good enough. I’d recommend walking a little further, or driving on down to the Lisburn Road shop and get what you need from there. Disappointing and painfully small

How convenient it is to have this on our doorstep on the Dublin Rd! While the queues can get long, they do their best to put on extra staff to move it along I would have rated it 5 star only for the annoying problem of letting their promotional stock run low or out(particulary wine :-) But with opening hours 7 days a week from 7 — 11 its great to have them

This is a very convenient shop, close to the cinema, bars and offices on the Dublin Road and Shaftesbury Square. It has tea/coffee machines, sandwiches and small bakery section so it is ideal if you are looking to grab something to go for lunch. The grocery selection is limited by the relatively small size of the shop. The main problem with the shop is that often the shelves have not been restocked so it can be frustrating.

This Tesco, as stated by previous reviewers, is a great stop off for students at night as it closes at 11pm — later than the nearest Tesco on the Lisburn Road which closes at 9pm. This store does supply an alcoholic drinks selection, as well as a small selection of all other necessity goods such as food, drink, bathroom and kitchen supplies, magazines, etc. The nearby on the Lisburn Road supplies more goods if you require a larger selection. In my experience the staff were helpful when I queried about an item, and informed me of their delivery date. This store is convenient for your basic needs.

perfect for students out on a late night. very handy if you are coming back from the cinema/bars and want to grab some food. it’s still an express though so you wont get a massive selection
