Wrong Un

I’ve been coming here since I hit drinking age and what can I say? It does the job.
It has pretty classic Wetherspoons décor and is usually filled with groups of barely legal teenagers ordering WKDs with that air of novelty which wore off for me a long time ago. It’s opposite a couple of Bexleyheath nightlife hotspots and as a result, has periods where it’s busy (7pm to about 10pm) and then a quiet period at the end as everyone moves on. It doesn’t seem to be the place people choose to spend a whole night in.
The pub itself is good, it serves nice good, really nice cocktails but this is much the same as any other Wetherspoons. I’ve been to quite a few now and I can’t really see anything that makes it stand out.
If you enjoy looking at the youth of tomorrow and shaking your head in disbelief as I do, it’s unmissable. If you just want a quiet pint and a bowl of chips, maybe try the Furze Wren up the road.

It’s the one with the burly men outside snarling, they’re not security guards either. It’s bordering the crappy side of bexleyheath… well, crappier.
I think this wetherspoons compared to the furze wren in the broadway has younger clientele since it’s opposite affinity bar and OHM? Pure? IDON’TKNOWWHATIT’SCALLEDANYMORECUZIAMTOOOLDFORTHAT? So people usually meet here and then move on to a uhm, bett-​wait, another bar.
Uh, aside from seeing some of those unsavory characters that terrorised me from secondary school, its a good meeting place I guess to get some cheap wetherspoon drinks in before getting groped again in another one of bexleyheath’s fine establishments…
On the brighter side, I bump into people I haven’t seen for 5 years here, from school which is always nostalgic to say the least.

The wrong is were all the dick heads in the broadway go after being ban from the rest of the bars & pubs in the area. Cheep beer cheep food & full of boys trying 2 be men

It is great if you like to hang out with 15 year olds and witness them getting drunk and fighting by 9pm.

The Wrong’un in Bexleyheath is what you might call an «old school Wetherspoons». In that I mean it is a mainly wooden interior with the carpet, no music, not modern and trendy and the usual squabble of old men who spend their whole day in the pub as well as cheap food and drink.
It is a little out of the way of the busiest parts of Bexleyheath which is its appeal to me. I have never seen much trouble there on my visits compared to for instance The Furze Wren or RSVP up the road although I wouldn’t bet against it happening at some point.
The pub is quite long and narrow with no windows which means towards the back of the pub you can be forgiven for forgetting that the outside world exists. The booths down one side of the bar are good for groups that wish to have a talk amongst themselves in privacy.
On busy nights the staff can be under a lot of pressure and you might have to wait a little bit to get served but they do acknowledge waiting customers which settles you and makes you feel like you’re not being ignored.
All in all, I quite like The Wrong’ Un compared to the other Wetherspoons on offer in Bexleyheath as a place to socialise and have a conversation with a mate, but it lacks that something special which would make me want to specifically go there for a night out.

The biggest asset to this pub is the prices. It has a good atmosphere, is clean and is ideally located. There is a family area which also has high chairs. The staff here are efficient and friendly. The menu is good and offers a good selection of vegetarian food. You can buy a decent bottle of wine for under a tenner and all the other drinks are very cheap. The bar is always busy and they have a good regular clientele. My nephew make quite a mess with his meal which we were cleaning up from the floor, our waitress came over and wouldn’t let us do it. The staff are so good considering the fact that they don’t get many tips. You pay and order your food from the bar, the bar man was surprised that I gave a tip and informed me that it is rare. This is a fantastic cheap, nice place to eat.

the wrong un isn’t bad, although it could do with modernising a little. that said, they do some good ales and bitters, the staff are friendly and the food is good quality. it is quite a large pub– the outside give the impression of something small, not so! price wise– it is a wetherspon, so expect tose sort of prices. not bad though
