My favourite local pub. Modern but still has a pub feel, I can’t understand the choice of low chairs and high tables but there are a few good seats where the tables and chairs work together. Food is almost always nice, desserts are super.

It’s a very traditional English pub the food is great, but the staff could be a little friendlier. My last experience was OK, but it doesn’t stop me from going back as it’s very local to me.

This is a lovely, classic, English pub that not only serves a good selection of beers but also does great food. The last time I was here I had a caesar salad with a crispy boiled egg that was still runny! It also has a large beer garden and families are more than welcome.

Pretty Good. Last visit Nov 2010. My wife likes this place a lot, and I am ok about it. The food is good, nice wide selection for all tastes, and the atmosphere is usually nice, staff are friendly and it doesn’t cost lots to have a good meal. Occasional times the service is very slow, but I accept that is in peak periods, and it does get very busy — a victim of its own success. Get there early, get a nice table and enjoy it much more that way.

this is a decent country style pub, the menu is pretty static but it’s nice to have something predictable once in a while. The only thing I don’t like is that the children’s meals come with pre-​seasoned chips, lots of salt, that puts me off going with children. The staff are excellent and a lot of them ahve been there for years. The bar is always well stocked and very clean. There is a big outdoor area with lots of picnic benches and inside there is a separate family area. It’s very near Barleylands, so if you don’t mind salty chips you could call on the way back. When you order you get a spoon with a number on and then when you pay you take the spoon with you.

Nice place to eat fairly cheaply. Only issue is menu doesn’t change very often so I tend to get the same thing each time. Staff are always friendly. Nice Garden area for the hot days we occationally get!
