The Refreshment Rooms

My mum and friends always come here as a must when I am in town from Canada. Mum is a regular. The customer service is superior. The fish and chips are a must have. The steak and ale pie is delicious. The lasagna looks amazing and I’m going to have to have that next time. The Thai fish cakes are delicious. But mostly it’s about the people and the attention to service that makes this place. The food presentation is lovely.

Good food and a nice people

Went in the other Saturday evening with my ex-​hubby, to have a look see what the old Addy was like now it’s known as the Refreshment Room. Was pleasantly surprised because even though the place has had a makeover, the floor in particular, it is still essentially, the Addy! Quite a few of the regulars albeit slightly older, lol, were there and more arrived as the pub got busier and busier over the evening, was great to see them all again.
There were a great choice of drinks, real ales, ciders, lagers, bottles etc., the prices, quite reasonable too.
Entertainment was on, profuse apologies but I can’t remember the name of the band, that’s the fault of one of the pints of Stella I imbibed! I did have several dances though, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
All in all, I had a great time, ex-​hub didn’t moan that much, so I assume he must have enjoyed himself. Would thoroughly recommend anyone to give this pub a visit.

Food menu looks great and might try it this Saturday when I go there again to watch my old mate, Joey Shields along with his Wheels. If not, will defo go on the Sunday for dindins!
