I have tried Abu Zayd’s many times with friends and its ok(average)however on two occasions i tried Beef stake once two years ago when i complained about it been virtually 50% meat and the rest was bone and fat, and today with my wife and child, this time it was covered in tomato ketchup to hide the high content of fat in the steak. My wife ordered a chicken steak which literally smelled like a sewer, i complained and they accepted and offered another steak which my wife declined because she was put off. When i came to pay the bill i was charged the full amount i mentioned that the chicken steak was taken back and we did not order a replacement, their response was tough and denied any knowledge!!! Also it’s the first time i have used the family room as it’s the first time i have been there with my wife, it’s hardly what i would call a family room. There was 3 families(including my family) and rest of the tables were occupied by men, why call it a family room, which it obviously is not. Absolutely disgusted with customer service and food and so called ‘FAMILYROOM’.

I went to Abu Zayd with a group of friends and I liked it very much. The sevice was good, one thing I didnt like much was the family room was open and sometimes males enter with their families. It was difficult for my friend as she wears a vail and kept having to cover her face everytime a male entered. Apart from that its an excellent restaurant and I will visit it again :-)

Lovely arabic food as usual this time they specialise in grilled meat etc. Its definately recommended. One thing though must be notified bout this ‘Vibesnake’. He’s got some serious issues against Arab people. Previously he «reviewed» the restaurant Badr with the same attitude against the arab staff. No one I know has complained bout their attitude(I live near the area and I’ve spoken with many people who went there to eat). Just consider your own ethnicity, I assume you’re asian possibly from pakistan, coz I’ve gone to many asian restaurants and only God knows how awful and rude they are towards their costumers! No manners, no sincerity when it comes to cooking the food etc. Having said that, I wouldnt go round saying that ALL asians are like that in UK. No! Many are extremely friendly and good. You need to change your own stubborn arrogant attitude!

Has anyone tried Lebanese cuisine in Birmingham before? I don’t think so… but now you can… this place has some great food, a pure taste of lebanese food. All the authentic middle eastern food you can get is here. pure The price is average but you will get plates full of meat and rice or chunky chips, which I dare if you can finish all of it. I had been there three time, once with my company colleagues, once on my own and once with my friend, and on all occasions i could’nt finish my ordered dish. it is full of meaty ricy yummy plates, its so delicious that you don’t want to stop eating. Good range of most of the famous lebanese cuisine choice. Upstairs place for families and couples. Downstairs is always busy with people eating those big plates full of yummy food. But one thing i was very disappointed, was the staff. There is one person in the staff, he is very rude with customers and most of the time he won’t listen to you. and if you ask him to bring some water, you will get the water at the end of your meal after reminding him again and again for water. I wish they get rid of him or concentrate more on their staff manners. Its a typical arab style dealing with customers, rude style as its known in UK… otherwise if you want some good food and desserts, this is the place. The one and only middle eastern food with pure middle eastern taste.
