Now, I found it quite difficult setting up this listing. Airbnb is a website in which people can rent a room, an apartment or a house(as well as other madcap housing solutions) from someone else all over the world. You simply sign up, create a profile, verify it and then search destinations via country and then radius(as well as choosing whether you would like a room or a whole place) to book. The Airbnb community is made of renters and landlords(is that an accurate description?). The owners of properties can choose how much they would like to charge per night, whether they take a security deposit and specify any amenities(WiFi, bath, washing machine etc) that their property has to offer. I had only heard overwhelmingly good things about Airbnb from friends and colleagues, so we decided to take this route when booking accommodation in Japan. As we were staying in several different places(and not on a huge budget), we found the searching tools fantastic for specifying areas that we wanted to visit for a cost that we could afford. All of our hosts were fantastic in terms of answering any questions and confirming our bookings really swiftly. Although we only met one of our hosts(in Kyoto), all of them provided us keys and instructions on how to access the property(as well as any house rules). We stayed in a cute micro apartment in Tokyo, a spacious designer apartment in Nagoya(for about £28 a night!), a beautiful old fashioned apartment in Kyoto(overlooking a temple — see pictures) and a modern, fresh apartment in Osaka. We didn’t have any problems at all with the apartments and found them all to be clean and as described on the website. I literally don’t have a bad word to say about them. There are several properties available to rent in trendy areas around Birmingham, so I would recommend having a look at Airbnb if you would like to stay in a room, house or apartment(rather than a hotel) when tripping to the City.
