Popped in for a coffee and cake catch up with a friend. This place is huge! Coffees are well made and theres a fab selection of cakes on offer including gluten free. Will definitely be returning to try out the rest of the menu

I love this place, the food is amazing and it has a great atmosphere. I find it great as a place to go and work or share lunch with friends. The menu is imaginative whilst being simple and easy to pick from, the coffee is amazing and the staff are attentive and responsive. The location is perfect for a working lunch, remember to check your table number before going to order.

Visited here last week for the millionth time for brunch with a friend. It was a Saturday and crazily busy but the staff were still lovely and food was a decent time to wait for. I had the superfood salad which was really yummy and a ginger ale which had the prettiest bottle(I kept it for a flower holder). For dessert I had a scone with lashings of cream and jam with an earl grey tea. It was around four quid which is pricey but worth it for how tasty it was.

Really love the hipster vibe going on, really cute. The place can be quite busy sometimes but the service is amazing! They’re really nice and are always happy to help. The food is amazing, fresh and made fresh, the price is reasonable too. Would definitely recommend it!

I am a big brunch person, so when I find somewhere serving up food as good as this how can I not be a fan! Having seen this branch of Boston Tea Party open up a little while ago I though why not give it a go! Both myself and a friend went for a firm favourite in eggs Benedict. Both were as close to perfect as you can get! Creamy Hollandaise sauce, perfect poached eggs and a beautiful ham on well toasted english muffins! Flawless. We washed down our eggs with a nice cup of tea and sat and enjoyed the resturants laid back ambience for a little while. At a bit over £20 for two people this is not the cheapest brunh offering in town but it is of a fantasitc quality! I will be returning!

In two minds … on the one hand it’s quite a nice environment in an faux cool coffee shop kinda way, but on the other the food/drink offer doesn’t really stack up quality wise given the pricing. This is a wannabee chain pretending to be small independant. I was in for a late breakfast at around 10.30am and ordered the West Country with a raspberry and mango smoothie and a flat white. It’s a bit confusing ordering because there seem to be people running around but no one stops to take my order. Then after 10 minutes waiting I realise you order at the counter and then the running around people just bring stuff over and clear up. My order was around £13 or so. I’d say the breakfast was middlin’ at best. Cheap sausage, average bacon, microwave style eggs, three small oven cooked tomatoes, cheap beans and one slice of toast. This is what you pay maybe £4−5 for in a standard café and for similar quality. Somewhere like Yorks has a much better breakfast while say Brewsmiths is much better pricing. The smoothie has to be pre-prepared concoction, isn’t it? There’s no way that can be fresh fruit based. Way too sweet and a strange consistency. It could be the mango, but it doesn’t taste natural. However, the flat white was to my liking. It reminds me of the Brewsmiths blend: punchy, good body, nice chocolate/nuttiness to it. It’s not the fashionable, light roast, acidic/fruit style so common these days — what a relief! Back to environment … lots of recycled type stuff, well set up, really big space, plenty of variety for all kinds and all sizes from singles to larger groups. Given the location is a bit out of the way and it was only mid-morning Saturday it was pretty busy. Customers seemed happy. Staff were pleasant enough. I kinda liked it, just not really enough to go back.

I had to be up extra early to take my theory test(ugh) and was looking for a nice place to grab breakfast. I wandered two blocks away from my test site and stumbled upon this place. I recognized the name and discovered I had bookmarked it. Hurray! This restaurant was a lot larger than it looks on the outside. Many other reviewers mention how difficult it can be to find a table. Luckily I was early enough to avoid this problem. There are chairs, high top tables, small tables, and big tables for groups. I always like how charming coffee shops can be with seating. There were many delicious looking baked treats on display and a really nice mason jar set up showing off summer tea drinks. I was impressed by the interior and set up. I ordered myself a chai latte(my standard drink if you’ve read my reviews) and an eggs benedict. The chai took a big longer than I thought considering the place was pretty empty. However, it was worth the wait and really sweet and delicious. The eggs benedict didn’t take too much longer. It shocked me how massive it was. It was one huge english muffin half with two poached eggs, ham, and loaded with hollandaise sauce. It was good, but too large and was swimming in the sauce. But compared to other coffee shops I’ve tried it was the cheapest price. The employees seemed very friendly. One woman came over during my meal to make sure everything was ok. I don’t see that much in coffee shops. Don’t think this place isn’t worth a visit due to my 3 stars. I still plan on going back someday to try lunch or maybe one of the tasty looking desserts. It’s definitely worth a shot if you’re ever in that end of town.

Just plain terrible. I first visited a couple of months ago, and I found the coffee pretty abysmal. I didn’t review until I tried it again, it may have been a one off. I have to say, still the same. I ate an Ultimate Burger, £8.50. There was nothing ultimate about it. A very disappointing tasting burger: served in a brioche bun, with cheese, slice of tomato, lettuce and an oddly tasting bacon chutney. Sided with fries and coleslaw. This place really falls behind the competition, such as Yorks Bakery Café, or amazing coffee from Faculty.

I like this place for brunch. I think that that food offers a lot of options from healthy/light dishes through to heavier/more indulgent choices. It’s a shame that this place gets so busy that there is a bit of a fight for tables. If you’re going with a group larger than four, go ten minutes earlier to get a table, as you have to seat yourself. When the poached eggs were overcooked, we did speak to a server. I had a fresh set of poached eggs brought out to me. They were still ever so slightly over cooked too. I don’t know if they use a heat lamp before the food is brought out, but it seems to be a reoccurring issue for me.

Having been to Boston Tea Party since it’s opening, I have never been disappointed. It has a great central(but not too central!) location, fab portion sizes, amazing cake selection and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend over any of the standard high-street chains!

I’ve been in BTP a few times now and the experience started well and just seemed to get worse and worse if I’m honest. First occasion was for a breakfast roll which was quite expensive for what it essentially was. The breakfast roll was good and did the job. On my most recent visit it was just terrible service really and very very mediocre food for too high a price. I walked in to order when it was quite busy and couldn’t physically see anywhere to sit but knew I would find somewhere once I had got my tea. I ordered a Green Tea and the lady said«Where are you sitting?» I exclaimed I wasn’t sure yet but i would find somewhere and was met with quite a rude«Well’ you’ll just have to wait here ’til its done then». Wasn’t really sure why I was punished for not knowing where I was sitting but still. It’s not that big a place to be honest, I’m pretty sure she could have found me. We ordered lunch which came to about £30 for 3 of us with drinks. The burger is another one of those that is trying too hard to be different and keeping up with the Street Food vendors in Birmingham, but not doing it well. The fries were really bland. The drinks were«home-made» yet I wish they hadn’t bothered really. I didn’t really feel the greatest afterwards but I can’t tell if that was the burger(not saying it was food poisoning at all just saying I felt weirdly bloated). The principal ideas are there for BTP which are cute and nice but it doesn’t really anything apart from tea and breakfast well really. The chef seems afraid to try anything like flavouring of anything so for that reason I wont be going back just yet.

After seeing loads of check-ins and reviews on my Unilocal feed I thought it was finally time I had to check this place out myself. Even tho it’s probably on the wrong side of town at the moment but once East-side and aston university developments are up and running then it’s going to be in a prime location. So it’s a nice 10 minute scroll across town to it. As soon as you walk into the restaurant you can tell it’s quirky and funky almost like the breakfast club dinners in London, they could mask the big fridges as soon as you walk in but that isn’t a major issue, theirs ample seating but finding a table at peak time might be a struggle but this time we found a coffee table and two comfy chairs really easy. It’s pretty much like any ordering service in restaurants nowadays give them your table number at the counter and order your food and drinks. Everything is freshly made so you probably have to wait an extra 10 mins for a burger(what I ordered) but for freshly cooked food I’m not going to complain about that! The food was lovely and very filling maybe a tad expensive but not overly costly maybe in line with most food joints that offer freshly cooked burgers I. e five guys and places like that. I will def be using the place again because the food you can choose from works for breakfast brunch or lunch. Big thumbs up from me definitely worth checking out

I was in Birmingham for an evening and needed somewhere to go for brunch yesterday. Myself and my wife arrived first. I had eggs benedict and my other half had scrambled eggs and toast. My only criticism about my dish was that the eggs were a little overdone and I didn’t get that lovely mix of egg yolk and hollandaise, also there wasn’t enough of it! I had an iced coffee which was great and my other half had a pot of tea which was really nice. A couple of friends also joined us and they both had eggs, pancakes and bacon and it looked amazing. We all finished our visit with their homemade lemonade. Fantastically sharp and sweet and really refreshing over ice. The staff were really friendly and incredibly attentive. I would recommend Boston Tea Party to anyone and we’ll definitely be visiting regularly when we’re in the area.

This place was a lovely discovery. Incredible, incredible coffee — probably the smoothest and fluffiest latte I have ever come across — served alongside some fair fare. The food is served in metal plates/bowls, which adds to the vintage feel of the place, but we weren’t terribly happy with how dry the mushrooms on toast was, and similarly disappointed that to add«some bacon and egg» to it topped up the bill by £4. Still, I’ll be back, and the hot drinks loyalty card is your 10th drink free after nine stamps collected.

I recently discovered Boston Tea Party on my ongoing search for the best brunch in Birmingham. You can read about my verging on obsession with the fact that you can add avocado to your eggs here: I absolutely loved this place. And I’m difficult to please when it comes to breakfasts! If you want good eggs and good coffee I would rate this one pretty highly on the brum brunch scale.

Very, very average Dont have much time for a long review so i’ll keep it to brief points Somehow with four of us ordering 5 breakfasts came out. I was hungry so I said that was fine and kept it… minor niggle… i should have check the receipt. The Eggy bread had possibly just been waved near an egg. It was bland, barely cooked and tasteless The Eggs royal we OK but the muffins were not toasted… so can’t rate the dish as good. When we complained to the waitress(she ASKED how the meal was) all we receive was a nod and a blank look The draft pint tasted like grass. Maybe thats how the beer was supposed to taste though The ‘plates’ are beat up camping style tin things that look like they seen better days… they kind of fit the place though… as the quality the dinning experience is similar to a cheap school camping trip Thats basically it. Stick to coffee and cake if you go here.

I’d never been to Boston Tea Party before so I thought I’d have a look at it. It’s in a unit that’s been a bar and a buffet before so it’s been through a few changes. I like the wood finish on the walls and the retro plates. I had a toastie which was really tasty and I want to try their burgers next time. Friendly staff make this chain worth a visit.

I have no idea how I managed to not visit BTP for so long! I am a bad Unilocaler when gems like this escape me. In fact I’m so bad my mother who lives in Druckers(not that there is anything wrong with Druckers) had to suggest it! Our original plan had been to go for afternoon tea. But afternoon tea isn’t served until 2pm and we were there at about half 12. It was busy as it was the lunch rush but we managed to quickly find a seat and the queue wasn’t too bad. A lovely member of staff told us that instead of afternoon tea, a cake plate and toasties was pretty similar for the same price. I was very impressed with the loose leaf tea and the sieve/strainer thingy in the tea pot. We went with the ham and cheese toastie and the goats cheese one. The ham and cheese was good, the ham was so thick it was pretty much bacon. I was a little underwhelmed with the goats cheese, mostly because I didn’t think there was enough onion marmalade. The star of the show was the cake plate. It came with the biggest scone I have ever seen! It was huge and still warm in the middle. The chocolate brownie was pretty much pure chocolate fudge in the middle which was lovely. I wasn’t too happy with the lemon cake which just wasn’t that lemon-y and was a tad dry. Overall, very happy and I will be visiting again. Now I’m looking forward to the new branch opening in Harborne soon.

Looking for food in evening and happend to be around Corporation Street. I suggested this place to my friends. I have been here fpr breakfast but haven’t tried anything else on menu. Walked up to here and we thought it was closed as there was no one inside. I’ve been here twice and it’s always buzzing. Went in to ask and turns out it was open(should’ve read the times on door) Grabbed menu at the front and found a spot to sit. Menu is simple to understand. I never had burger from here and wanted to try the chicken one. One of my friend went for breakfast which they serve all day, and the other a beef or lamb burger not sure. Being the only people there was great, got to ask for suggestions of drinks and teas from staff when ordering, and didn’t feel like we have to rush because of queue. I got a glass of fresh orange juice Food arrived in no time. The chicken burger was AMAZING. The flavour was just too good, you can tell it was marinated well. Chicken was tender, bun was wholemeal which was soft and fresh. Everything on menu is made from scratch and you can tell. Coleslaw was so good and fries were crispy. Both of my friends was their first time in BTP and they loved their food. We even got a scone and tea after meal which was so good. Walked out very happy and full. Would definately come back here again. Now I have to debate what to get when I next visit this place, burger or breakfast.

Boston Tea Party has to be one of the best tea shops in Birmingham. Originally started in Bristol the brand has spread across the South West with Birmingham being one of the first of it’s cafes outside of this region. They are a family owned company who realise that«Being bigger is not always better & we want to remain a café to be discovered, recommended & returned to». The Birmingham café can be found at the very top of corporation street, which can be a bit of a walk to get to but is well worth the time of foot. It’s also round the corner from Eastside City Park so is a great place to pop into beforehand. Offering, in my opinion, one of the best cooked breakfasts in Birmingham(The West Country Breakfast) which is available all day for a great price of just £6.95. it also has a fantastic cake selection freshly baked on site which my housemate, a keen baker, loves and recommends. The drink offering is as you would expect up to scratch too offering a wide range of fantastic loose leaf teas in individual teapots with strainers as a nice touch. Don’t be fooled however, they do offer coffee, soft drinks and even beers and ales.
