I first walked into Café Ezra on the second day of opening(I was out of town on the first day!), excited to have another place to both work from and meet people, situated as it is on the other side of Birmingham from me, closer to Digbeth. Situated inside Hotel La Tour, despite seeing Illy coffee signs(I’d rather have local independent roaster being supported) the coffee is expertly made so not bad at all. It’s a great working environment with a variety of seating options from the long table with stools which is perfect for independents to work from or sofas and coffee tables which are great for group meetings. There are also armchairs although these have curiously low coffee tables with them. Important for most of us, there is free Wi-Fi and if you’re stopping here for a while, there are breakfast snacks as well as lunches to choose from. It’s my meeting place of choice any time I’m meeting anyone that’s coming from the aforementioned Digbeth. The staff are super friendly and inviting too.
