Absolutely horrendous. Close this pub down and never ever reopen. i seriously would avoid this place rude waiters, disgusting food and terrible portion size. Google this place to find out more

Great little pub by the canal. Cozy, friendly staff and food tastes surprisingly good(loved the veggie sausages) for something that costs less than 5£. Only downside is the waiting time for food. If you do order make sure you have around 30min. But its worth the wait to be honest. To the pub owner, improve your serving time and this could be a true pub landmark for birmingham.

This place has a great location and a cute quirky look. But they didn’t have any savoury vegan options available when I went there. And it took them a really long time to serve me. It’s fine if you want a quick cake or drink. But I think that if they want to serve food, they should give more options for a vegan.

Plenty of tasty and inexpensive home-made veggie options on the menu(and meaty things too). Cosy fireside drinking and dining, with benches outside along the canal towpath for when the sun shines. Its called a café, but really its a very decent pub with food. Its good to see an historic building like the Canalside doing such a good trade alongside all the new kids on the block nearby. Great spot for people and canal-boat watching! Lovely place. Well worth a visit. Obs: the ladies loos could do with some attention and seem to be designed with miniature people in mind. They really did shoe-horn those loos into a very small space!

I adore this place. I was a tourist in Bham City and this is just the sort of place I wanted to find to wile away an afternoon by the canal. Not simply being directly on the canal, just along from the Mailbox and Broad Street this café-come-bar is just the most adorable thing. Quirky to the point of completely impractical. There is plenty of seating crammed inside this long but thin bar. Being a Saturday bankholiday afternoon it was indeed busy, but the Mrs and I squeezed in at lunchtime and didn’t leave until our train was due early evening. There’s simply so much choice for such a small venue. An array of Ales, Spirits and Ciders beyond your normal bar fodder I was thoroughly impressed. As the Mrs dosnt drink — and has the most amazing sweet tooth she had a coffee and cake deal. Lovely fresh coffee and homemade coffee cake at a steal of £3. I stuck to the organic cider which washed down the dreary, cold and rainy canal side view outside the window. The several real fires around the place, multiplying its cuteness. The two girls behind the bar were fast an efficient and dealt with the surprisingly large crowds at the bar with good humor. After a few ciders and refusing to move from our cosy spot we take advantage of the great vegetarian choices and get the lasagna. The portion sizes are small, but the price does correspond with it. It’s great for filling that hole that cider had created. It was also lovely with a bit of salad and chips on the side. I’d only wished we’d came here for breakfast because it’s the only place I’ve ever seen faken on the menu!!!(faken = fake bacon). If I lived here, I’d be back again and again. *If I had read the filtered reviews before I came here, I probably would’ve thought twice — but you never know if it was filtered for a reason — either way I’ve rated it on my experience.

A cosy, homely canal-side café. The place has it all, a good selection of ales and ciders, cream tea as well as soups, sandwiches and more hearty fare such as bangers and mash, lasagne and chilli. All food come in meat and veggie options. Portion sizes are on the small side. Prices are fine but I’d be willing to pay a little more in order to get more food. I’ve found it can take a while to get served. They could do with a bell on the counter in order to attract someone’s attention from the kitchen.
