Coffee is okay I prefer independent coffee shops who know their product and ate passionate about coffee. I drove thru but waited a while to be served as the order point mic was broken and the waiter couldn’t hear me. No apology given. £2.20 for black Americano medium. Tasted okay service was poor.

I think it tells a little about our priorities that a friend recently tried to give me directions to somewhere in Edgbaston based on its relationship to this Costa. We love our coffee! This particular Costa also serves as somewhat of a beacon and welcoming landmark with its location on the Calthorpe Road at Five Ways roundabout. It’s a drive thru, obviously, although I’m not even sure how much business that gets. I don’t think I’d like to try to exit and reenter traffic around that area at rush hour! I would sacrifice many things for the blessed bean though, so in reality I’m sure I would chance it. The café for those on foot is very pleasant and manages to belie the frenzied surroundings. It’s all wood and comfy chairs so that it’s more spa than super-roundabout. They have the usual cakes to torment me(thankfully with calories on display which means I generally don’t indulge) and the staff are friendly. Their Americanos are decent, but I just don’t know why they won’t let us pour our own milk into them. I’m a midget, but I’m an actual grown up! I’m also a picky grown up who likes to put my own preferred volume of milk in and their version of «a tiny bit» and mine isn’t the same. One of the baristas even admitted that she, too, found it stupid. All in all it’s my haven when I’m working in the area. It’s Costa, so no surprises; but let me put my own goddamn milk in, Mom!
