Nothing to complain about with Drinksville, it’s a great off-licence. They have a large varied stock, really reasonable prices and friendly staff too. And I bet they have to deal with some right drunk numbskulls being situated right in the heart of Moseley village too, but it doesn’t seem to sway them. A much better option to stock up here rather than the supermarkets around the corner.

What did I do before Drinksville was around? This place is handier than a pocket on a shirt. They have a great selection of wine, beers and spirits and a great fridge section brimming with the fizzy favourites and other more obscure brands. The price is average(depending on what you get it is usually cheaper than the supermarkets on Moseley high street) but the variety is great so there’s a drink for every purse or wallet. They also have all the stuff a smoker may need along with sweets and chocolate. My friends and I often grab red wine from here, choosing by price if it’s the end of the month or buying our favourites when price is no object(still has to be under £7 of course). On sunny days we pick up refrigerated bottled beers such as Erdinger or Leffe or the amazingness that is Crabbie’s ginger beer. I thought Drinksville had it all until I was pining after mixed fruit Kopparberg and shock horror they only had strawberry and mint. The consolation red berry Bulmers left a bitter taste in my mouth after that experience.

Drinksville in Moseley manages to finely walk the balance of being a great off licence without tripping over into an upmarket, high end wine or spirit shop. The place is very down to earth, with all your usual cheapest booze choices(Glen’s vodka anyone?) Brilliantly it also offers some very good quality alcohol. So you can get a decent bottle of wine or even champagne. They stock a wide variety of international lagers and many real ales. The staff are always super friendly, you know even if you are already half cut. Just watch out for that plastic screen. I’ve seen many a friend plough into that …
