This is a very nice place hidden a little back from the road and not immediately noticeable. First thing I would do is improve the sign-posting so you can see it properly from the road. This is a busy stretch of road and they’re losing out on a ton of free advertising by being so ‘shy’! There are several swanky style restaurants around here and that’s how I’d describe El B. It’s clean, bright and shiny as you might expect from a fairly new place. Service is good and so is the food. I could select my own seat and so went for the lovely left hand side couches running the length of the wall and a two person table. It’s a big place with a massive bar and a see through style kitchen. Clearly they’ve not held back on the cash here and the vibe is fairly posh, but it’s friendly and informal around the edges. I was guided through the menu, with readily understandable descriptions of each item that I asked about. I went in for their lunchtime special, advertised as two tapas for £6.95. Around here, that’s very good given it’s quality grub. For me it had to be the classic Patatas Bravas and then I chose the chorizo in red wine. Both were good, the Patatas especial so, with a slight sweet potato tastin’ thing going on. Portion sizes were just right. My OJ was also very good … proper fresh squeezed tasting and super smooth. Came to around £11 all in with tip. So an entirely enjoyable experience and I’d certainly be going back very soon.

Great food, helpful attentive staff, lovely décor and atmosphere. Lots of meat free options too if, like me, you’re not into that sort of thing

Okay, so I went on opening night, but the food was excellent(especially the huge paella that was on offer) — and I’m looking forward to going back to sample the place properly.
