Hudson & Mortimers

I love it when a food place offers jacket potatoes with something a little bit different. It shouldn’t be too hard to go beyond just cheese or beans or coleslaw — and yet so many places struggle to come up with anything more imaginative. I’m not asking for caviar or goats cheese — just something a bit more exciting than BEANS.
This is why I like Hudson & Mortimers — a little surprise on the Hagley Rd! Not only do they have an extensive sandwich menu (my other half chowed down on a southern fried chicken baguette and was very pleased with himself indeed) but they also do a big range of jacket potato toppings, with the option of adding on other bits to make it even better. I opted for the vegetable curry with added jalapenos (I have a cold, and figured something spicy would help shift it) and it was a perfect choice. The curry, as I’d expected, wasn’t overly spicy — but with the added peppers it had just the right amount of kick. Yum!
