Jav, originally from Pakistan, trained as a hair dresser in Holland before moving to the UK twenty-​years ago. Jav specialises in Asian, European and Afro-​caribbean hair using a combination of scissors and hair clippers to create a smooth, smart, precise finish. I always go for the traditional short back & sides costing just £6.00. Jav skillfully completes the job in around ten minutes whilst chatting about the latest news, politics and the state of society. Jav’s is a popular place with a steady stream of characterful customers throughout the day Monday to Saturday from 9.00am to 7.00pm. Jav also offers a home visit service for the very young or people unable to make it to the salon for whatever reason. Jav also offers a Cutthroat shave service and I’ve often watched in ore of the skill with which he removes facial hair in a traditional way, quite a talent.
