Moghul Restaurant

My brother and his lady took us to their local Indian over Christmas, a nice idea but disappointing in practice.
We’d just been to my nan’s house and she LOVES to feed us all, so it wasn’t going to be large dinner!
Mrs D orders a couple of starters to have as main course, but for some reason the waiter brings it as her starter.
«We’ll bring you another couple to have as a main, you might as well keep those»
So, Mrs D has the same two dishes for starters and main courses, a little unconventional but hey… She said they were average too. So Mrs D has 4 average dishes.
Mine was quite nice, but when the bill arrived, you guessed it…
They charged for both sets of starters!
Overall, a bit underwhelming to be honest, I think I’ll stick with my local.

A nice meal but nothing to rave about. Service is brisk, inside is bright and well lit, and the menu is full of choice. Don’t be afraid to venture outside of the usual ones; everything is delicious, from the sagwala to the biryani. Tables are sadly too small for you and your party to spread out and order everything you want; we ended up restricting what we requested due to available table space. Our meal of starter, main, sides and a couple of beers averaged at £20 a head.

We often visit this restaurant as it is within walking distance and because the food is just excellent.
Inside the décor resembles a pretty standard balti house. The staff are super friendly and they stock a full bar so no need to worry about bringing your own drinks.
All there food is excellent — just what you would expect from a good Indian curry place in Birmingham.

I have been a regular at Moghul for a long time. The service is AMAZING, the staff are friendly and courteous and the food is second to none. Of all the tandooris in Birmingham Moghul is my favorite. Its not expensive, its in a great location for a ‘quiet meal out’, and there is adequate parking all about the area. Sadly i no longer live in Birmingham, but every time i visit and fancy a curry Moghul is my first choice.

Found this gem via a work colleague who highly recommended.
…and i must say, the food here is excellent. They know how to make a good king prawn madras. The service is excellent also. The price is very very reasonable.
Only negative I can think of is they don’t have Malai Kulfi /​Ras Malai for desert.
It’s a must to check out if your fed up of the balti triangle hype. ;-)
