Have been climbing at Redpoint Bristol and came to check out the original. The grade levels seem a little different to Bristol, the walls are more worn due to age and thus make it a different(tougher) experience altogether, something we were not expecting! Great staff, good tea, well stocked and reasonable priced shop, homely club type of vibe built on years of experience. Top rope climbing was testing and excellent inventive routes. We felt like beginners again after the first 30 mins but got use to the differences and enjoyed the variety and challenges for a few hours. The bouldering caverns are exceptional, i wish we had more time to play in there. A number of rooms with varying degrees of skill required, did what i could until my arms could hold me no more, brilliant area/s. Changing areas were also good, didn’t use any hire equipment but looked good from what i could see. Large library of climbing resources in the café seating area and plenty of friendly staff and clients around to chat too. This as is Bristol is a great facility for the beginners up to the pros, really glad we popped by and hope to get back up there another time in the future, totally worth a visit. Great prices too! Hope you enjoy your visit as much as we did.

Redpoint climbing center, the super friendly staff, the super yummy cakes/coffee are awesome. I am so shocked to see two reviews on here that are less than 5 stars, no disrespect intended but were you guys on drugs or drunk when you climbed there? A very clean and tidy place with great(real graded) routes, the staff are awesome there all great climbers so if you need advice /pointers/help with a climb or whatever they are always more than willing to ablige. Great work guys keep on rockin.

I’ve been to many climbing centres around the UK, and while many are very good, Redpoint keeps me coming back. The staff are always friendly and willing to help, which helps create a social atmosphere. I’ve struck up many friendships by speaking to other users of the centre. The routes are imaginative, and perhaps a little tough for the grade(compared to other centres) but this is a good thing in my opinion. When you’ve climbed a 6b at redpoint, it is a 6b, not a 5+ dressed as a 6b to massage the ego. The routes are changed regularly, but if you’re working a specific line, they’ll happily leave it up for you if you ask. The new bouldering section is also fantastic. I agree with a previous reviewer about the cakes, they are fantastic. Definitely try the malteser cake!
