Very friendly place to enjoy breakfast or lunch and good coffee after shopping. The café food is fresh and the staff go an extra step to getting your food to you. The staff in the non-café section are very helpful as well. There’s always adequate help locating obscure items and the cashiers help move long lines along. I’ve noticed a shift from carrying full-fat natural yogurt(Sainbury’s used to have a wonderful house brand) to the trend of low fat, added sugar and fruit and other flavorings. At this point in time, the only full fat yogurt seems to be Yeo; a good brand, but in the past there were many more brands. There is a good assortment of most shelf items; the whiskey is cheaper than Morrison’s; the prepared foods sometimes run out by 5 pm. Easily accessible by the 49, 50 and 2 busses. 49 and 2 stop directly cross the front doors. The front doors lock around 8 pm, so later shoppers who are walking must go around to the back and up the ramp inside the parking garage. Very clean store with wider aisles.

Located in Maypole Island Roundabout. You’ll find anything here. Had list of stuff to buy and was worried I’ll be here for an hour trying find them. It is a big store and going to do a lot of walking. The sections have nice big labels easily read from distance. So this helped a lot knowing where I’d find certain things. There are staff all over, very polite and friendly. Was looking for specific brand of the item and staff took me to where it is. Great store and would pop in whenever I’m around.

One of the great things about the café in this store is the large curved window that extends for about 20 metres on one side. It means while you sip your cappuccino you can watch traffic circle the Maypole roundabout and see passengers alight at the No. 2 bus stop. There’s nothing better than a bit of discreet people watching, as all café-dwellers know.

This is a big Sainsburys store with lots of parking. As you enter the store from the car park you go up a escalator style ramp with your trolleys and enter the store. This branch has a clothing and toy section as well as all the regular Sainsbury’s and supermarket goods. I was impressed with my visit here last week when all the toys were half price and I managed to get some Christmas shopping alongside my food shopping. The staff are friendly and helpful. Sainsburys now also offer nectar points for bringing your own shopping bags, however if you do not have any with you they will still hand you as many bags as you do need. With both Tesco and Sainsbury’s now offering points for reusing bags I tend to try and keep some bags in the car for when I go shopping.
