I visited this place for dinner. It was great. We got there early in the evening when it was empty, but only after a short while the place was full. The staff were friendly and very welcoming. We ordered the combination plate which was enough for the three of us. The food was fresh and delicious. In the end, we got complementary milk pudding, which was so good! I’d highly recommend this place.

Ive visited this place a few times and it has never disappointed. Its on the Hagley Road and parking can be a bit of a nightmare but you can usually find somewhere on a side street(but be careful for residents only areas!). The first thing to say about this restaurant is — you are probably best to book! Its a small, intimate place and its reputation precedes it — every time i have been(always mid-week) it has been rammed. The staff are extremely attentive and generous — every visit has brought a free dessert or drink — incredible hosts. The food is quite frankly stunning despite its simplicity. Who could have thought that meat and rice could taste as good as this? They do a starter which is a taster of many of their starter dishes — this is well worth it just for the aubergine dish alone — id be happy eating that forever. I highly recommend this place!

As a Persian away from home finding a Persian restaurant as good as mamans home cooking is impossible but this is as close as it gets. Service as a good as true Persian hospitality. A proper little gem in Birmingham.

This is a lovely place — just on the Hagley Road by the is-it-closed-or-isn’t-it Ivy Bush pub. It’s a family run restaurant, with amazing service and they sell a delicious range of Persian and Iranian food — last time we went we opted for the lamb kebabs and chicken kebabs with a generous(some would say massive) helping of salad, bread and steamed saffron rice. Best of all was the pudding — at the time I was just weaning myself off a diet and had been drooling at Gregg’s doughnuts for the best part of a week. I’m so glad I waited because the desserts here are amazing — as well as Baklava they do Iranian sorbet, ice creams and(also very generous in size) fruit salad. The restaurant isn’t licensed but they do really refreshing mint tea — which given the amount of food we’d managed to pack away was a welcome addition. It’s always busy here — especially on Friday evenings so I would phone ahead.

It’s quite easy to miss this rather small and compact restaurant when making your way into Birmingham, especially as it is accompanied by a row of fast food places and a pub. But if you do notice it and decide to go in, you will be rewarded… Situated near the end of Hagley Road towards Broad Street, this restaurant serves up an authentic Persian and Iranian menu and is an alcohol-free zone. Quick tip… It can get quite busy during most evenings(especially during festivals such as Eid) so making a reservation is a good idea to avoid disappointment. Parking is a bit difficult though, as the restaurant is situated on a main road. However, parking bays on some of the side streets don’t charge after 7pm so it’s worth keeping that in mind. The menu… prices range from the £8−12 mark per person and consists of mainly lamb, chicken and seafood dishes(with veg options too of course). A personal favourite has to be the Chello Kebab Bakhtiarey which has the best of both worlds. Quick tip… portion sizes are fairly large here(with generous servings of rice) so come with an empty stomach! Of course no meal is complete without dessert, and for those that haven’t tried Baklava, it definitely is a must. Deliberately small in portion size, it can be quite addictive! Overall, for anyone looking for an intimate and fairly quiet atmosphere this place should definitely be an option. The ambiance of the place suggests a good place for a romantic dinner, as well as a relaxed outing for small groups.

One thing is for sure, the food here is just beautiful. But let me make one thing clear this is not an Indian restaurant as it has been categorized. This is authentic Persian restaurant with authentic Persian food. The space is small but the quality of the food is just superb. Always freshly prepared food unlike other restaurants where the gravy is ready and no matter what you order it is quickly made ready in the same gravy, mostly Indian restaurants do this. But this Persian restaurant has fresh taste and every dish has got different taste from other. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to every non-vegetarian. Who needs to go to egdeware road london, the same food is available here in Birmingham. The price of the food is high but you paying for the quality food and the superb service of this Persian restaurant. This restaurant is on top of my list.

Authentic persian food just outside birmingham city centre. Always full and they deserve to be. Inexpensive and consistently good food. Dont expect anything posh — plastic table clothes are the order of the day and don’texpect silver-service, you’ll be disappointed. Its like the back-street taverna you’d find in Greece, full of locals. Give it a try, I give it 5* — say hi to the owner(he’s always there after about 8.30pm without fail and a real character).
