Standard Thai menu, delicious food at every course. Really delicious! Good not great service. Very affordable especially compared to London!

Though the food is alright, the staff is really unfriendly and one time I called them to order take away, they told me to come and order in the restaurant so I went but in there they informed me they don’t do takeaway on the weekends. Couldn’t have told me on the phone, seriously???

Lobster was OK. Some really nice dishes but others that left me wanting. We tried quite a bit and most we’re just above average.

Great deal on the lunch menu! £8.95/person for 2 courses. the starters that we got — minced fish cake and the grilled spare ribs– were amazing. the main courses– fish curry and duck and tamarind sauce– were ok. good service and nice atmosphere. would come again to try other food!

My friends and I loved the ‘all you can eat’ buffet on Sunday afternoon, the food was very high quality and I particularly enjoyed the seafood dishes. Recommended.

I have eaten here several times and the first few times were pretty good(about 4– 5 years ago) but this time the food was average to slightly above and the service was quite poor. The restaurant environment has a high end feel but the food does not really match it and the service was way off(late to arrive, difficulties with communication but to be fair we were all American and they were speaking British English with thick Asian accents so maybe lost in translation). They did not come out and ask us if we wanted more drinks after sitting empty for quite a while so we left and had drinks somewhere else. I believe price does not include rice.

My little sister visited at the weekend and is going through a bit of a Thai food phase, so I thought it was best to do what she wanted in case she murdered me in my sleep or something. I didn’t really want to book before she’d arrived because we hadn’t confirmed our plans so was stuck with trying to book a Saturday evening dinner on Saturday afternoon. Luckily Thai Edge has a ridiculously easy system via Bookatable and also had space for us. The restaurant website itself is a bit of a flash-laden eye-assaulting nightmare, but that’s probably not their fault. We arrived on time and were taken straight to our table. I ended up on a banquette with a good view of the bustling but not overly busy restaurant. They do manage to pack quite a few people in there, but it’s not oppressive and there’s just about enough room between tables. A huge bowl of prawn crackers awaited us which we devoured as we perused the menus. They popped over quickly for drinks orders and were again prompt in taking our meal choice. We weren’t overly hungry so each just got a main and a portion of rice between us. I had Gai Takrai(number 54) and she had Gai Nong Khai Special(no. 55). Mine was full of lemongrass while hers was spicier but there were both really tasty. Just enough to be satisfied without being stuffed. For drinks, I went with house Zinfandel while she went all out with a strawberry daiquiri. We decided to forego dessert in favour of sweet things from the Christmas Markets, although I was quite intrigued by the prospect of deep fried ice cream. They add 10% for service automatically which you can deduct, but it was worth it anyway. All our servers were very sweet and attentive so we would have wanted to tip them anyway. Overall price was pretty reasonable given the food and overall quality of experience. I’d go again!

I went hear on a Sunday evening for a quiet, relaxing end of the week dinner. And to the Thai Edge team’s credit, it was just that! We opted for one of their multitude of set menus that you can choose from, in which we devoured salt and pepper pork, Thai Green Curry, hot chilli beef which is my personal favourite and garlic prawns, amongst others. The food, including two glasses of wine, come to £45 which is great value!

This is pretty much as good a Thai restaurant that you’ll find outside Thailand. Almost a 5 star but for some of the small negatives noted elsewhere a little cosy as far as table spacing is concerned and the desserts were a bit of a let down. The starters and mains were all top notch though and proved to be genuinely tasty. The service was prompt, efficient and extremely courteous and the staff were a pleasure to deal with. It was quite empty when we arrived but as the evening progressed it fuilled up to capacity quickly and noisily! The Thai Edge is very handy for many city centre venues and I would highly recommend this place for a pre-event meal.

Lovely food perfect Thai cuisine. We dropped our Daughter off at the NIA and the Thai Edge is just a short walk away. We had the set meal perfect value for money. Despite being extremely busy the food was perfectly timed and we didn’t wait at all. Plenty of attentive staff around. There were a couple of negatives but I am really being picky, the noise level is extremely high and everyone seemed to be nicely packed in close together so not the place for a quiet personal chat with someone over dinner and the service charge 10% is added to the bill, I personally like to have the choice of what and how much.

Good Thai food and flavour, not so good dessert — bought in pudding! Not very confident staff but popular overall.

Their jungle curry is insane. I asked to have it just moderately spicy — and I can normally take quite spicy food but this left my mouth in a seriously fiery state and in desperate need of some soothing ice cream. Luckily they did provide this, and on reflection, the jungle curry was pretty awesome in a mind-blowing kind of way. As well as chicken, mushrooms, lots of chilli and lemon-grass it also featured one or two more interesting items bamboo shoots, some kind of strange giant peas(slightly crunchy, and good at absorbing chilli!) and if I’m right, figs. So, go for that if you like excitement. If not, there is a huge selection of probably more temperate dishes which I really should have selected from! Thai Edge somehow manages to seem both tranquil and buzzing at the same time, clearly catering well for groups of any size. Three courses(I needed the ice cream!) and two Thai beers came to just over £30. Update after second visit: the soup is wonderful and they do a pretty good red thai curry(which is at just the right level of spiciness!)

Incredibly accomodating staff not overpriced for the standard of food great location just in Brindley place and lovely interior. If you’re seeing a show at the NIA or symphony hall then I would say it is a perfect place to enjoy a meal beforehand

Great Thai restaurant, in nice location. I’ve been here a few times and enjoyed it every time. It isn’t cheap(especially the Valentines set menu!) but it is very lovely food. The staff are very friendly too, and if they’re busy and you need to wait for a few minutes for a table, you can have a drink and some spicy prawn crackers.

I spent about 6 months in Birmingham on business and it is always hard to find a restaurant that is friendly but doesn’t make you feel a bit odd for eating alone. I had just got back from a holiday in Thailand and was looking for a restaurant the could replicate the great meal I had there. I absolutely loved this place and ate there more often than is normal! The service is attentive, but discreet and the food is amazing. I have never had a bad meal here. The price is also very reasonable, so you won’t break the bank.

This restaurant might be hard to find at first in Brindley Place, but once inside, the atmosphere immediately makes you feel warm and at ease. The staff are all thai which gives the restaurant a much more authentic feel. The menu is extensive, with a big variety of dishes from Thailand and some of the areas around it. The food is delicious, authentic thai food with a modern touch. The quantities are average, they could have been slightly bigger. The prices are slightly higher than some of the other restuarants in the area, but this is to be expected as Thai Edge is very upmarket and the food is of a very high standard. There isn’t a set dress code for the restaurant, and there is a varied crowd, some people having a nice meal before an evening out, and some dropping by after work, but all in all, the crowd is quite classy. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others for delicious Thai cuisine. Perfect for a date or to go with a group of friends.

Thai edge is a very smart, modern Thai restaurant situated in the hustle and bustle of Brindley place. The first thing you’ll notice when you walk in is how warm and friendly the staff seem to be, the second thing you’ll notice is the décor of which for the most part is flown in from Thailand. The menu is fantastic with a beautiful range of authentic Thai dishes for you to choose from. I’ve never been disappointed and it’s a must for anyone that loves this sort of food as I do. Big thumbs up.
